Home Office Ideas After Coronavirus?

As coronavirus has announced as an epidemic and news are coming that companies are suggesting their employees to work from home. See these sources which are suggestion work from home:

Even the UK government has given special rights to the police to detain affected people. It is panic everywhere. As I work with a software company and for sure, we can work from home.

Do you think I should consider to step up my home office? I found these tips for bedroom offices http://www.elizabethmartindesign.com/tips-for-setting-up-bedroom-office-in-your-home/, but probably, I would like to go with basement office ideas, but according to my mom, I wouldn't get proper air and natural light there. What are your suggestions in this regard? Would I need working desk and storage furniture to work from home or can I use my bed and go with the cheap options like cluttering?

Secondly, few of my colleagues are saying we shouldn't panic and go with work at office option and work remotely will affect our collaboration. What do you think how long we can figure out this issue?

Collaboration will suffer a little. It doesnt matter. Protect yourself especially if you are in contact with older or immune compromised.

As a fellow software dev. I consider the less collaboration skill an opportunity to learn to be better at it. Learn to work remotely. That way you've skill at it for when you decide you want remote at times. Trains your team into accepting it too.

I agree but we were not ready for it. Few of our colleagues are not feeling comfortable for remote work because they share apartments with friends and family. We are just thinking to design soundproof places with fewer furniture and other cost.
