Yes, I'm miserly to a fault, but my parents often spent much outside their budget and so I suspect it was a reaction to that.

What's a moment from film/TV show that made you cry?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,457 ✭✭✭✭Kylta

That's a mad question, who cries at movies?

What's a truly awful album by a band/singer you like or used to like?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,119 ✭✭✭Gregor Samsa

I think people I've encountered would consider anything by Laibach to be pretty awful (and I bring the topic up a lot), but I'm a huge fan.

Or, if you mean the question in a different way, I'm also a fan of The Smashing Pumpkins, but all the albums after Adore are utter rubbish.

What's your answer to the Trolly Problem?
There is a runaway trolley barrelling down the railway tracks. Ahead, on the tracks, there are five people tied up and unable to move. The trolley is headed straight for them. You are standing some distance off in the train yard, next to a lever. If you pull this lever, the trolley will switch to a different set of tracks. However, you notice that there is one person on the side track. You have two options:
    • Do nothing and allow the trolley to kill the five people on the main track.
    • Pull the lever, diverting the trolley onto the side track where it will kill one person.

What's your answer to the Trolly Problem?

    I'm not getting involved!

What's your thoughts on websites like Tattle Life?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,533 ✭✭✭magic_murph

well if the people are tied up you would have to imagine there is a criminal mastermind lurking around the corner somewhere
so - if you get involved you will more than likely feel the rathe of the mastermind for meddling in his plans

I would take out my phone, record the trolley slamming into the guilty 5, post on youtube, get 100mil+ views and start spending that glorious youtube money.

Person B on the other side of the tracks (aren't they always) it was not stated if this person is male or female so have to assume SHE is a hot loner, just walking the yard looking for a hot youngish youtube rich guy to rescue her from her troubles.

I'd approach with caution, tell said loner I am everything she every wanted and would she like to go for a mug of hot chocolate and biscuit sandwich (not a euphemism)

    Lesson of the day:
You can't save everybody but if you search hard enough you might just get your hole.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,119 ✭✭✭Gregor Samsa

An overnight one, in secondary school, 6th year. Two kids made accusations of inappropriate behaviour against the PE teacher to a priest during confession, and he was suspended for a couple of years while a criminal investigation took place. They eventually retracted their accusations, saying they were just messing, the case was dropped and he got his job back.

What's your worst school story? (that's not actually my worst one)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,343 ✭✭✭Loveinapril
