Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Definitely. & I like a lot of different types of music so that's says a lot about my moods ;)

Have you ever been to a concert of someone you like & been so disappointed by seeing them live?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,095 ✭✭✭Gregor Samsa

Yeah, went to see Canadian band Nomeansno years ago, who I love, but the gig was dreadful. I saw them a few times before and after, and they were fantastic, but that night they were just off and not in a good mood. Saw Sigur Ros in Glastonbury in 2003 and they were very underwhelming, but I think that was because it was on a big outdoor stage during the day, and there was no real atmosphere.

What band would you have loved to see play live that you didn't?

Slipknot, missed out on them here in January:(

Would you go to a concert to see a band or a singer that you didn't like? Like picture being begged to go to a Britney concert or Boyzone, would you go?

I have to admit, while I'm mad into a lot of different music, I have very little tolerance for stuff I don't like. That said, with my kids currently bombarding me with Michael Jackson (one of them is obsessed), Little Mix, Blackpink and the soundtracks from the Disney Descendants movies, I think I'm beginning to mellow. If the kids wanted to go to something I didn't like, I'd bring them and grin and bear it. If it was my wife, I'd have to think carefully about it. If it was my mates, no chance. Although I did once endure an entire Shakespeare's Sister set in Feile just to look at Siobhan Fahey.

What's the most you've ever spent on a concert ticket (and what was it)?

I absolutely love their song Stay lol. I'll have to look them up because I think it might be their only song I know! Or at least that I think I know for now

Not much, because I havent been to many actually. It's something I'll be changing though & plan on going to more, on my own, when life ever gets back to normal.

Have you or would you go to see an opera show?

WB Yeats had a book published called 'Irish fairy and folk tales' in 1888 which contained a story about my family house. So that one is my favourite.

edit - a blocked nose. Could not handle wet feet.

Yeah for a few summers during college. The middle aged women wanting the free plastic bags were a head wreck.

Would you ever employee a former addict if you were in a position to hire someone for your firm?

I have a soft spot for addicts. Inside I'd want to hire them over anyone else to give them a chance, but it would depend on the job. If it were a position for an air hostess, I could hardy hire someone who had had a few rough years written all over their face. So it depends.

Do you think you would make a good manager?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,095 ✭✭✭Gregor Samsa

I am a manager. I get great reviews from my boss (and my team) but I definitely suffer from imposter syndrome, so no, not really. I keep expecting to be found out.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Probably under if I were honest. I haven't the energy for anything more at the minute. But I'm content so that's good enough for me anyway.
