Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yes loved it

Would you do a Chernobyl tour?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,328 ✭✭✭Upforthematch

Eh no. Place is still glowing probably.

If your significant other (or a hot date) wanted you to go line dancing what would you say?

Let's go for a few drinks first!

    Best festival you've been to?

It's been a wonderful 7 years but it's time for us both to discover what new people the universe wants us to meet...

    You?

Kick up your heels, let's go (yes, I'm desperate :D)

Edit: Best festival - probably oxygen many moons ago.

Have you been on the receiving end of a lovely random act of kindness?

Yes, indeed. Was having a ptsd induced panic attack on a train in London and a lovely lady calmed me down and took care if me. There are others too, people helping me carry heavy bags, that sort of thing, but will never forget that lady and have never ignored someone in obvious distress as a result.

    You?

I am working. Have a good busy day ahead and a relatively full long weekend planned.

Are you consuming more or less food and alcohol these days compared to normal?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 80,796 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sephiroth_dude

About the same I would guess

    you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

Definitely eating more food. Treats to keep the spirits up.
But not boozing more. I reckon a few people are sliding in to alcoholism during this crisis and would be wary of falling in to that.

Have you learned anything about yourself in the last 3 weeks?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

Once I had to start working from home, I went back to jogging and go religiously every day. I've surprised myself that I'm still doing it and am loving it ... a family friend (who is a good runner) told my brother that he saw me out on my run last week and that I looked the part!

    Have you been out yet?

Nope, not long out of the leaba.

What easter egg will you be eating this weekend?

    Malteasers maybe.

    Any plans for the day?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

Work. Gardening. Walkies. Dinner al fresco. Movie.

Are you ironing your clothes during this crisis - or going 'rustic'?

Still ironing. Getting more wear out of them though.

    How's your hair doing?

    Overgrown for me

    You?

Going to do some more work (in a bit!) and then call over to a few neighbours with their daily newspapers. Friend is calling for lunch and plan a bit of pampering this evening.

What room are you in at the moment?

  • Registered Users Posts: 292 ✭✭Hippykitten

    In the garden

    Has the postman come yet?

    In the garden

    Has the postman come yet?

No. My postlady doesn't come until about 1.30. She'll park at the top of the driveway and pop the post in the box and if I'm outside as you are now, she'll shout down "Hii Buile!! Gorgeous day isn't it?" And I'll say "It sure is! Hope this weather holds for the weekend". And then she'll probably ask after my partner. She's so nice.

Are you on a first name basis with your postperson?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

Yes. He brought my Dunnes vouchers
Yes. Postman is great (if I don't have a stamp, I leave the letter out with money and he stamps and sends it!)
    Last impulse buy?

Yes. We share the same Alma Mater so have traded a few stories of misadventure and daring do around the old campus and lovably bonkers lecturers. He's a lovely guy.
Last impulse buy was a Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner on sale. Well worth it. Will be cranking it up shortly for a dust bunny cull.

    Expecting any easter eggs?

I bought sexy lingerie online even though I'm single and in lockdown. Then I took some sexy photos of myself in my lingerie even though I have no one to send them to.

Have you ever taken a sexy photo of yourself?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

Every photo of me is a sexy one TBH.

    Do you believe me?

Yes, the camera does lie. Very much so sometimes.

Have you had any treats yet today?

Not yet. Just had an easter Egg arrive. It's doubtful it will last til Sunday but more stuff coming with my shopping so we'll see.

    Have you a sweet tooth?

Not really. I'm more of a savoury person.

Last time you gave/got a piggyback ride?

Last time you got a carry on the back/cross bar of a bike?

    10 years ago or so

Are the people police (giving out about everyone else) wrecking your head?

Last time I remember was about 9 years ago.

Do you think it's lazy when people just say "You?" on this thread instead of thinking up their own question?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

    I love Sardonicat's last question!
In my college days this was a regular (uncomfortable but welcome) occurrence.
    I avoid the "people police"
I'm often guilty of asking "You"! - sometimes the question is a good one and it's nice to get other answers
Given the issues with doping, is the Tour de France a joke of a competition at this stage?

No I think all sports have a lot to thank cycling for in terms of knowledge and testing protocols
Tour de France is only 3 weeks of the cycling season.

    What’s planned for lunch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

Batch bread is in the oven so will be having a ploughmans on hot bread.

    Last time you baked something?

I baked cupcakes for a neighbour last week - glad to report that he is still alive.

What is your favourite cupcake topping?

Prefer them plain or the old style icing. I hate that dollop of coloured sugary goo that passes for icing now.

    Can you hear lawn mowers?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

In my dreams I hear someone (else) mowing my lawn.
    Cup cakes for everyone!

    Do you daydream often?

I'm actually starving. Haven't had my breakfast. May combine it with lunch into something special!

How many tea/coffees a day do you have?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

    Starving actually.

Probably on average 4 strong coffees a day

(Heading off now to my neighbours - see ye all later!)
Am I a silly goose to be saying that?

I was attacked by a bantam cock when I was younger

    Would you ever feed swans?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

No, they frighten me. Vicious and unwavering when they go on the attack.

    What is your ideal pet?

Not a problem I have had to be honest.

Would doing a parachute jump be a big thrill or your idea of hell?

    A big thrill

Do you face down your fears

    A big thrill

Do you face down your fears

I did a massive brave thing last year but I have no interest in beating my fear of spiders and heights. It's more emotional and psychological fears which I tend to be concerned with.

    What are you scared of?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

    Lightning (also the boogie man!)

Do you ever get a shock from your car door?

I have done and certain fabrics.

Is ruby your favourite gem stone?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

No. I like pearls simply because they remind me of my Mum who loves them (I don't wear them myself though)

    Do you/partner wear them?
