Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    No..

(Ok.. just googled it.. Stipe had to deny it anyway, so I definitely didn't just make it up..)

Do you remember where you were when you heard Kurt was dead?..

Coming back from school I think
Was pretty pissed off as I had a ticket reserved to see them know Ireland

Out of a scale 1-10 how mad would you be if none of the restrictions were lifted next week?

Maybe a 3. I feel for my parents in particular (& my hair!) but if it’s necessary, I’ll go with the flow

Are you good at biting your tongue when you need to?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 601 ✭✭✭Snails pace

No I'm not. There was a few times I should of kept my mouth shut.

Do people confide in you ?

    I don't know really..

You do know it's 'should have', and not 'should of' yeah?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,309 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

I do know that but I wouldn't feel the need to highlight it on a casual chat forum.

    How is your spelling?

    Speling, not bad

I'm glad you pointed that out because I wouldn't of slept ;)

When a non- native English speakers speaks English which is more important? Ability to speak grammatically correct or be understood?

Understanding (my grammar & spelling are error strewn)

Are you good at giving directions?

I don't know - I've never seen the people I gave directions to again , I hope they arrived safely

Do you think one's interpretation of directions is shaped by one's gender?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,309 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

My directions would be very colloquial.. Go past Mrs Ryan's cottage, past Mikey Bourke's silage field and it's the house with the labrador in the garden. Haha.

Would that amuse or frustrate you?

    No, I think it's great

Ever say " Just down the road" Or " Besides your man's place " ?

Every day. Also common around here is 'I was "abroad" at the clothes line when you were ringing me.'

What's one phrase or word you use that would confuse a non English speaker?

    "Odd fish".

Ever think of a person as your home?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,328 ✭✭✭Upforthematch

No, but I really like that idea to describe a partner.

What do you like most in your partner (or previous partner)?

Everything, it's hard to put things like that into words. Hes a very good person.

    Same question again?

What’s the story with Made innChelsea it’s my first time leaving the tv on the channel long enough to hear them talk, what’s it all about? Scripted or what’s going on?

    I have absolutely no idea.

What's one thing that would put you off someone? Either as a potential date or a potential mate.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,328 ✭✭✭Upforthematch

Offputting for a date, making no effort to look good or surgically attached to the phone.

Outputting for a mate, any type of lying. Trust is important to me.

What are your strengths in a relationship? Are you the fun one, the organiser, etc...

Do you like any kind of cheese?

    What's your favourite herb?

Generally yes. It's a pain when you post a question and it's ignored though!

    Do you wear glasses?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Ruby Ring

I wear lenses for the most part (have glasses too)

Did you start today with rose tinted glasses?

    Yes

My neighbour wants me to buy her some Mills and Boon books in the local supermarket? What strategy would you suggest should I adopt to ensure the least embarrassment?

Before you into the supermarket pay someone off to cause havok and create a scene then go over to the microphone yolk and shout into it "clean on isle 47b"while all the staff are wondering where isle 47b is, run to the self check out and buy the books and then leave.

    Is this a good plan?

I dunno ... think i'd end up as a headline in the local rag.

    Ever make the headlines?

It's not too hard (says Ruby who inherited strawberry plants when I bought my home)

Is there a book in you? (if yes, what genre?)

    Michael collins

    you?

Not something I've thought that much about. I admire lots of historical figures. Anyone who stood up for the little man, the oppressed. People who gave their lives to make a positive difference. The likes of Steve Biko for example.

I really admire a lot of artists but mainly for their work, rather than how they actually lived their lives.

What did you have for breakfast?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 80,797 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sephiroth_dude

    Black pudding on toast

    You?

Yeah I'm afraid of things going under water that don't belong under water. Freaks me right out. So if we're watching a film for example, and a car gets submerged.. uuugggghhhhh I can't even think about it now. It's not even the fear of that happening to me.. it's just the thoughts of things under the sea that belong on land!

    What about you?

    No, I don't think so..

    That is a weird phobia..

Do you frequent a gym at all?..
