Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you remember the "granny popped out of bed" flowers on the vine type weed?

@jimbob not sure about cuckoo spit

They are white flowers on what looks like a vine plant and we used to pick them off and squeeze them out of the stalk saying "granny popped out of bed". They sort of popped off.

    Am I rambling?

What kind of role would have suited you in medieval ireland - lord, warrior, monk, bard or someone elese?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

    Alchemist.

In a place I used to work, going back about fifteen years ago, I was training a new recruit on machine procedures. After finishing we sat down for a chat.
Across the room an engineer friend at a loose end and looking for a chat himself spotted us came over. Nearing the table he opened with "Well lads, working like blacks I see." He immediately went red and sat down. The new recruit didn't take his eyes off me. The tension was palpable and the next second that passed seemed an age. I quickly quipped a remark to disguise that any of us heard it and continued conversation. The new recruit was African.

When was the last time you observed a display of complete stupidity or embarrassment?
