What's the madest thing someone you know has done for a charity fundraiser?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,153 ✭✭✭jimbobaloobob

I remember being in a pub one night they were shaving for charity. Mostly heads and all. A girl offered to have her armpits and Netherlands shaved. As far as I can remember but I could have been drunk she earned more for the charity with people donating not to have her do it.

I found a bottle of hand sanitizer. That was pretty exciting.

Have you broken any bones? If so, which ones?

Broken collarbones, one shoulder blade, elbows and wrists. Few ribs.

Do you think the recovery is worse than the impact?

Yea because there will be so many guidelines and protocols now to map out and adhere to.
Lockdown was just stay home, stay safe.

Honestly, nothing. I'm not into 'things'. Family and friends are my treasure.

    Do you collect anything?

To thine own self be true

Not purposefully. I suppose you could say I'm collecting books since I have 100s and don't like to throw them out/give them away, unless they're particularly awful.

What about you? (It's a cop out I know but I liked that question)

In my teens I collected the programmes from matches I went to. All Monaghan football games , league, championship.
    What's your favourite Beatles song?

Yeah, books too..(well, and guitars and audio plugins too..)
I'd probably have to say Come together..never been mad into the beatles..

Have you read anything good recently?..

    I read The God Delusion.
    It's fascinating.

None. Im watching a western on tg4 featuring Marlyn Munroe.

Would she be the stand out figure she was then if she where to be making her name in acting now?

Who knows. I remember an artist did mock ups of what starlets from back in the day would look like by beauty standards today with the love for surgery and contouring and all things Kardashian.

    Here's Marilyn.

Usually not. Apart from what’s in food.

Can you not ask a question even if you’ve none?

Do you think Covid 19 is over hyped??

BT i think lockdown was correct for 6 weekss but move on with SD.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,153 ✭✭✭jimbobaloobob

No I don’t think it’s over hyped. I think we’ve all become a bit desensitised to it. We are very lucky to live where we are and see the little effect it’s had here. Look at places like Ecuador to see if it’s over hyped.

Am I in jeopardy of having this thread moved to the Covid section?

Not at all. It's bound to crop up here from time to time.

Have you ever acted in a play?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,328 ✭✭✭Upforthematch

If you are young and healthy then yes. But I like the way the 'machine' has been disrupted to make sure we care for the older and those not so fortunate in the health stakes.

Edit: No, don't know much about plays.

Was there a time you saw something so impressive you just had to say 'Wow'?

I didnt want to bring another covid thread. My apologies.

No I was waiting on a physio appointment that was probably gonna include dry needling when all this you know what kicked off. Probably be next year before I'm seen now. Aw well, the pain is only mostly debilitating! ;)

Do you suffer any chronic pain?
