Its not about the destination. Its about the journey and the people you help and help you along the way.

Do you have any good playlists you could recommend?

    I don't

but I like your words of wisdom!

Lately, have you done/said/ thought of something that you are ashamed of?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,108 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

Yup, I would imagine that even the pope himself does that.

Do you need a holiday right now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 601 ✭✭✭Snails pace

Not really. I'd be happier with a meal out or a pint at the moment.

Have you trees in your garden ?

    Yeah, about 70-80 of them.

Do you choose your outfit the day before?

Do you choose your outfit the day before?

Outfit! Whatever is clean. Sure no-one's looking at me anyway.

Have you or did you ever have a tatty old jumper that you just loved wearing and couldn't part with?

Yes. Well it was a hoody. There was also a pair of shoes that broke my mother's heart because they were falling apart but I wouldn't throw them out. So many memories can appear from a simple question.

    How are you?

Emotionally better than yesterday. Physically worse. All in all I'd say I'm alright and I'm happy with that.

    Same question.

Sometimes feeling better emotionally means much more. I'm glad.

I am better than I was a month ago but am still hit every now and then with moments of anxiety.
    This damn virus.

What do you miss from pre Covid?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,108 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

    I miss having a choice.

Are you wearing summery clothes today?

Mostly my family. The only other thing I truly miss is quiet walks with my dogs. I had lots of special 'quiet places' or I knew the times that would be quiet in other busier places but since lockdown started none of the places are quiet. It's crazy really. And those walks were very important for my mental health I think. Obviously I still walk my dogs but I miss our 'special places' if that doesn't sound too dopey.

Edited: sorry TH missed your post. I'm not. I was wearing summery clothes yesterday and it was cold and I'm wearing warmer clothes today and it's summery. (That's what happens when you get dressed before you open your curtains!!)

What will be or was the highlight of your day today?

The highlight of my day will be finishing work and going out for a long walk with my son.
He is going to randomly write down 'turn left', 'turn right' and 'go straight' Thirty times on a piece of paper. I will randomly pick the starting point. And then we will follow the directions and see where we end up.

Does that sound fun or sad to you?

That sounds like a fun adventure!
Do you ever have days where you just stay in bed?

I have days where I want to stay in bed but always end up out and about doing stuff. Last time I spent a day in bed was about 15 years ago when I was v-sick.

Have you ever spent the night in a hospital?

I used to have a family nickname that I thought was my actual name til I started school. I refused to respond to it anymore when I was 10 and a school friend heard my Dad adress me with it and laughed. I came to regret that.

Have you ever addressed anyone by your private nickname for them by mistake?

No, but it has been done to me - the embarrassment as a teenager was excruciating!

Have you gone to someone's rescue? (it doesn't have to be dramatic story!)

Yeah, small things, I seem to have a face that people are drawn to. Have had a few strangers ask for my help with various things but nothing huge and dramatic. Like a young teenager who had been pressured into having a few drinks by a guy and then he abandoned her and she was too drunk to find her way home. She approached me in a big city in the UK and I eventually got her home. Had to talk to her sister on the phone because she was so bad she couldn't remember her own address. :D

My favourite 'rescue' though, was in a big department store, an older lady made her way across the entire place from the dressing rooms because seemingly she liked the look of me, didn't think I'd laugh at her... She was trying on a coat and the zip got stuck and she was trapped inside the coat and was having a claustrophobic breakdown of epic proportions! I got her out of it so... Quite the heroine over here!! :D:D:D I loved that because I have the same meltdown if I can't open the zip of my own jacket!

    Are you claustrophobic?

Are you happy that things are going back to normal or did lockdown suit you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,363 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

I'd be happy if things went back to normal, but what we are facing will be far from normal so I'm not looking forward to that.

Have you cut/dyed your hair at home recently?

To thine own self be true

I dunno, it's only a loosening of things now so far from normal yet. I'm hopeful it goes well and we can move to the next phase but I won't be counting my chickens before they hatch to avoid disappointment. Can't wait until proper normality or something close to it really begins though.

Haven't had to cut my hair yet, thank feck. Probably give myself a little trim soon. Don't dye it so that's something at least.

Have you had to cut anyone elses hair for them because of lockdown?

That would be a bad idea and funnily enough no one has asked me either!

What sort of primary school teacher would you be? Friendly? Bored? The one the kids are terrified of?

Probably the bored one if home schooling is anything to go by.
What are you watching right now?
