Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is a really good question, I'll pass it along with the same question (it would probably make a good thread).

Well I make a great spicy chicken wing sauce. I just have it on cauliflower though because I don't eat meat but I've been informed it's delicious on wings and it's been requested many times.

Do you like very spicy things?

    Yeah, kind of..

    Ever been in a band?..

Yeah, kind of, I didn’t last long past rehearsals because there were three guitar players two of whom were excellent, well one seriously excellent and I wasn’t the other...I was average, still play for pleasure and have reached a reasonable standard of playing, I’m told it’s listenable anyway.

Whats the most favorite lie you ever told ?

Well not a holiday but I was visiting family with my mother up north and we stayed way later than planned and half hour into the long drive home my mam says she's actually too wrecked and maybe we should just get a b&b. So she starts ringing around all the b&bs in the area and they're all booked because it turns out there was a big event on. But eventually we find one with two single rooms, really cheap. So she books them.

We arrive and it is the weirdest, dingy, dark, dirty place. We're thinking hey as long as the bed sheets are clean who cares. We get our keys and our rooms are beside each other but with one room in between us. We're already looking at each other like we've made a terrible mistake as I walk over to my door and take hold of the handle which immediately falls off and hits the floor. And then the laughing started and we couldn't stop. We go in and the room is manky. There's a towel but no soap or toilet roll.

We go to my Mam's room. Also dirty but not as bad. Her light switch doesn't work. She has toilet roll but no towel. We're still in total fits of giggles.

So anyway, I go to my room and I perch on the end of the bed afraid to lie down. Oh my fone is dead so I can't even amuse myself with that or document the state of the place. Next thing some people arrive to the middle room. They were clearly at the big event and are hammered drunk. There's two male voices and one female voice and they proceed to have the longest, loudest, most disturbing threesome! And I'm sitting here knowing my mam is listening to this on the other side. It goes on forever!!!!

At 5am my mam knocks on my door and asks if I'm awake. You bet your ass I'm awake. She asks if I want to just leave. You bet your ass I do. The woman working there hears us leaving and races out of her room and acts all shocked and asks if we're sure we don't want breakfast! Eh no thanks and we laugh all the way home.

    Any stories yourself?

Why didn't you ask for money back for the state of the place?
At least I hope you slated them on TripAdvisor.
My holiday story isn't exciting but it was fairly stupid on my part. I was a lot younger.
I was in Portugal with girlfriends and we used to go to a karaoke bar next to the hotel.
One night we were walking back from dinner to go to bed and I decided I didn't want bed so in the lobby, I said I was going off on my own for more drinks into the hotel bar. Got there and realised it wasn't open and I headed off drunk to the karaoke bar which involved walking an unlit stretch where the bins were.
I got there and ordered a drink and then got up to sing karaoke on own. Finished my song, dropped the microphone and literally walked out the door and back up the creepy stretch to the hotel.
Was so stupid, I was very drunk and alone and my friends didn't even know where I was.
Everyone was asleep when I crept back in.

Go on, next person, tell us your horror holiday story..

No, it wasn't out my way and I don't know if I would have had any skill to compete in it.

    Were you a scout?

  • Registered Users Posts: 497 ✭✭antgal23

Yeah, I was a scout for a year

Plan to paint garden walls tomorrow , play golf Saturday and Monday

I was in MUllingar for the first time today to see a chiropractor - turns out I have a balance problem and not a back problem.

He says years of holding a mobile phone at a slightly bunched position have caused it.

    Ever been to a chiropractor?

    I was a Brownie for a while. A Sprite, I think.

Do you think those organisations are a bit fascistic?

No, never been to a chiropractor.

I'm not sure. I was never a scout or brownie or anything so can't really judge.

Were you involved in many activities or clubs outside of school?

  • Registered Users Posts: 497 ✭✭antgal23

Yeah, did modern dancing for a year when I was 11 and took elocution lessons too - can't say either had a lasting impact ROFL

Can't say I see the Boy Scouts in that way Sardonicat

What makes you think the Boy Scouts are fascistic?

I was a cub and then a scout, neither were fascistic in my experience, I on the whole enjoyed both, of all the leadership people I can think out of the 12 or so of both, only one was a prick, he was a sizable one though, grade A assholè, hated, I kinda feel sorry for him now actually, only a youngish guy too.. he gave a friend of mine who was messing a bit too much of a kick up the arse, shouldn’t have touched him and it was with more force then he meant I suspect and Sean was a bit of a messer at times too but his old man arrived, went to kill him, both were separated and that spelt the end for young Sean and the leader too...it was ‘suggested’ he resigned..not sad to see him go.

Anyone ever got a haircut while extremely drunk and regretted it ? Pics mandatory if yes..

No, but I did go into a tat parlour in NY,a bit worse off.
He was cool, we talked about what I wanted and he made some suggestions.
Best of all he suggested I come in sober and do whatever I wanted.
    I never did.

No. I’d be afraid of accidentally tearing the thing in the throes of passion too.
