Mary Lou due to make a public appearance for the Sinn Féin Online National Easter Commemoration at 3pm, first time she will have been out in a good while.

They're still advertising that she will make the keynote address so if she doesn't show then there is definitely something up.

Richmond and Noone appearing at that conference is as big an embarrassment as the SF jolly to Venezuela.

If you have an Iranian friend, ask them who the MEK are, and watch for their reaction when you say politicians from Ireland's governing party are showing up at their conferences.

It's an embarrassment and you know it. Like I said, there's more where that came from for FG and other parties.

No equivocation offered I see or the question answered
    Let's try another easier one
What's the SF position on Syria and Irans support (both bastions of human rights and democracy...) for Hezbollah?
    Yeah or Nay ?

I have to say, watching a FG supporter trying to mount a defense of FG TDs and Senators showing up at an event organized by a group called The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran is grade-A lockdown entertainment.

    Better than Tiger King.

Let's ask question one again, what were senior SF representatives doing living it up sipping socialist champagne last year at a despots inauguration, millions of whose citizens were fleeing to America in a country ravaged with homelessness and poverty with a hospital system with no medicine, never mind ppe or test kits

It would help if you knew what the word equivocation meant.

You've been checkmated a couple of pages back Mort.

As I read this, a vision of Mary Lou making a speech with her handlers wiping chocolate off her face came into my head.

It might help if you didn't equivocate..

Irish times podcast around the time of the election. Quite frankly, the burden is on you with the 65k figure. That was plucked out of the air to beat SF over the head with. No such claims were made by SF so why bother even going there.

And no, I won't be answering your questions, because you ask them in bad faith.

I asked you three reasonably straight forward questions and you accuse me of bad faith?

I wouldn't mind a link to that podcast if you have it. Even the 180k figure you recalled is way out of line for what the actual costings for DCC are.

Using your figures and the DCC figures there's still a 150k gap in funding per unit. Multiply that out by 100k and you can see why I wouldn't mind the sources for your figures.

And then you have to add in the cost of maintenance and the cost of renters who won't pay rent etc.

I asked the questions in good faith, if you don't want to take the time to answer them that's fine.

More importantly, where has eoghan Murphy disappeared to? Last I heard he was self isolating but that was a few weeks ago.

Someone gave him Lego ,he's still trying to figure out what to do with it

    She is risen.

Amazing how much time you get off with a head cold. No wonder the scroungers love her.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but what size were the proposed units? Family or single occupancy?

Their manifesto didn't specify what size would be provided, but you'd imagine there would be a good mix to cover different sized households?

The only manifesto commitment given by SF was for 100,000 homes costing €6.5billion

    509291.JPG

I think the only thing that's been debunked is that you can't build houses for €65k in Ireland.

Go find it yourself. You wont like what it has to say, because it completely contradicts your narrative.

    Oh dear.

Covered over and over. SF never claimed 65k will build a new unit.

Sorry, in what world does 100,000 units for €6.5 billion not work out at €65k?

And if it's not €65k per unit which of the two figures from the SF manifesto is wrong?

Are they not planning 100,000 homes or are they planning to spend more than €6.5 billion?

An additional 6.5bn added to current spending commitments on social and affordable to reach 100k units over the stated period.

This was covered exhaustively around the election on both traditional media an social media.

    Oh dear.

My narrative? I put forward an article saying DCC costs units of social housing at 330k each to build. You disagree but won't provide any basis for your disagreement except a podcast you half remember and can't or won't link. Even the figures you offered (between 130k and 180k are pretty far apart, and both are pretty far away from the figure DCC provided).

give the link backing up your figures and I'll be happy to to accept a 180k build cost.

Oh ? Where would the other 14 billion come from to build the rest of the 100k houses ? (Assuming a cost of 200k per unit)

Not ars*d. You're wrong in any case. If the country's most notable housing economist is satisfied that the costings are realistic, so am I.

Random punter throwing around concocted figures doesn't bother me in the slightest.

It's actually Morning Ireland, so as not to send my friends on a wild goose chase I'll provide the link.

Lorcan Sirr takes you through it. The figures stack up sorry to tell you.

I suppose one way to work out the marginal cost per unit, is to look at what the marginal build would be.

If the €6.5 billion is additional, what proportion of 100,000 units is also additional?

It's covered in the linked podcast. Half of the above unites are already budgeted for in the NDP.
