Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What are our fibre options?

    Hi there,

We live in a small pod of houses (4 houses next to each other in middle of fields) which is about 1.3km from the local cabinet. We have a long driveway up to the property, about 500m. We currently have Eir broadband but the speeds are very poor 7mb down / 1mb up. Our line speed into the properties is only 12mb.

Do we have any options to get fibre into the property? Our neighbour (one of the four houses mentioned) is willing to dig out a trench the length of the driveway if that would drive down costs, but I would imagine there would still need to be FTTC so we'd need fibre run the remaining 800m to the cabinet.

Any suggestions? Looks like none of the main providers is running fibre out this way. D15 area.

If you're willing to build a proper structure (not a slat shed) at the end of the drive you might convince openEir to install into it. Then you could run the remainder yourself. They wont go that far from the road themselves.

Any idea how I could get in touch with someone to see if what you suggested is something they might do?
