The issue is your example of Mo Farrah ,a suspected doper

One minute you can run, then you contradict yourself. Make up your mind

People clearly are not going out just for the run. They need their head space ie country side ,hills etc for their mental well being etc

As for the drugs that you queried about earlier, we’ll, that sure helps to keep the mind stimulated and free from the boredom that is running on a track over and over and over ... ergo piss poor example by raising Mo Farrah

But yeah, if a 90 m space is all one has to exercise , that shall have to do . The chap never said that he wouldn’t obey the new rules either .

You are just totally taking the point I was making out of context and trying to twist it so I’m not going to bother anymore

More restrictions for the people who are already being conscientious. I reckon there will be no significant consequences for the people who ignore the measures.

Deliberately endangering the life of a vulnerable person by spitting on them? Public order offence if punished at all. Nonsense.

Lads I've pretty much been in lockdown for a fortnight but now that it's official it has me stressed out big time. Is that odd?

I agree. The same a-holes who go surfing and swimming during storms.

    No I don’t think so.
Same boat here. But it’s pretty much isn’t it? Going to the shops has had me on edge.
Measures like this and seeing the numbers rise just tells me that going to the shops is like playing Russian roulette with one more bullet in the gun.

You have no point to make .the chap who you made the original snide remark never even suggested that he would disobey the rules, just expressed frustration that its a little inconvenient for him, all the while you having no clue whatsoever as to his local area or where he could or could not run

We are both in an agreement that if 90 metres is all that one has , so be it .

I’m not the only one you pointed out the Mo Farrah issue , but that was more an amusing side note ,as was the drug thing

But hey, if you are incapable of making a statement without contradicting yourself or being oblivious to what you want to say, perhaps refrain from commenting . There’s no twisting in what was said .

I’d say you’d struggle to run around that block . Never mind commenting on what others may or may not need, especially by your own admission you couldn’t do it. It was pointed out to you that it’s the area and space that some want . Some are happy just to for for a jog around some bland dump of an area, others prefer eg hills ,scenery silence etc

It really shows the selfishness of some people. I hope decent people make a note of the morons they know and decide to not socialise/remain friendly with them. Absolute tits.

Why not target them directly , rather than penalising the rest of the country -

Also, given the dramatic lockdown of the pat few week , why could they not have closed the Italian flights 3 weeks ago , when everyone knew that was where virus spread was coming - took nearly 2 weeks to shut them down , yet no problem these days closing the whole country down , EU Global Big brother I fear.

    What's this 2km about?

What if any supermarket within 2km of me doesn't have what I need? I cannot drive further?

What is difference in getting in a car and driving 2k or 20km? Get in car.... get out of car.. follow distancing, wearing gloves and a mask.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,973 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

    Found a list

    https://assets.gov.ie/71882/599a9446564841589dc5275c49279578.pdf

Not sure if it is the new one. No mention there of building sites so I assume they should be closed now?

    2kM is for exercise.

You essentially go as far as you need to get food and medicine after that only 2Km for recreation

All travel is only if absolutely necessarily , this is a “ shelter -in-place “ directive

The WHO today: "This is just the beginning of the fight".

It's to tackle the pandemic - nothing more sinister.

2km concerns exercise . It’s like , if you are from the far side of town, you have no business being over in a park that 5km away from home . Kind of control how many will come near a popular park like eg Phoenix Park or St Anne’s in Dublin

There’s no distance limit regarding super markets

They’d hardly expect you to go to eg Tesco which is 1 km away from your home but It has a long que whereas some Tesco express or Centra convenient stores 3km away has no que And people can get in and out in 2 mins

Obviously , if your from rural area or two shop town ,you go where is convenient and safe

You do realise the gob****es who have not adhered to the restrictions and social distancing rules are not going to adhere to these new rules either. You get that right?

That's a matter for the Guards.

MOST people will realise the severity of the situation.

MOST don't have their heads buried in the sand.

But there are always a FEW gob****es as you say, who wont.

Your defeatist attitude is loud and clear however. You feel the measures are too much ?

Thanks to the selfishness of certain people doing the b#llox when ignoring medical advice given by the government. We are now in lock down and its the only way forward until we have the virus killed. The virus doesnt move. We move the virus.
