I don't understand the speed test

    Can someone please explain what the speed test means?

    I have just done a test and I'm getting the following results:

    ping 15
    jitter 12
    download 5.1
    upload 8.6

    It's virgin media and I'm in Dublin .

    Presume that's on a mobile phone's data connection (3G/4G)?

    A download less than upload with high jitter indicates congestion ie too many users on the same network at the same time.

    It would be OK for browsing and email but pretty useless for any high bandwidth tasks.
