Good time.to bury bad or unwanted news.

Btw, how are people going to get their permissions signed this year if the restrictions persist or are enhanced.

I think that's, 21/22 season, not this season.

as a point of objection to the implementation of these rules that most of us on here have voised our objections to from the start, should now leave the returns section of the new licence renewals blank as a demonstration of our disgust at what can only be seen as a legalised money laundering set up by a chosen few to line their own pockets, if the money was to finance the NPWS then no problem, but not for the self chosen few that elected themselves to advise the minister in our names on best practice to deer hunting
with regard to the the numbers of new applications for deer licences 1000 new applicants, i find hard to believe as the 4500 figure has been stagnant for the last few years i think like the deer numbers these numbers are fictitious at best and as guardians of these magnificent animals i think the minister is going down a very slippery road with these people most of which had to leave or were sacked from prominent positions leaving them with little or no credibility but yet they still shout the loudest and all of this harm was done in 3 meeting with most of them missing from the table didn't even bother to attend which i find hilarious in our little country

Unless they shut down the postal services,it should still be doable.

The makey up kind from NPWS no doubt.Same as the 100 acre rule, and that .243 is a ,now unacceptable deer cal.IOW disagree and we'll just block your application or claim that the minister can make changes to the act whenever it suits NPWS.

Hang on, when did the .243 become not deer suitable ? That's what I have

There was talk of it last season, mostly pushed by SCOVI and the deer groups,as it being a bare minimum,as we had all become wealthy and were now using .270s and upwards to hunt,so there was no reason for this lowly caliber anymore . It was FAR from .270s and .243 some of them espousing it were raised.

Any legislation to back this up?

It says the Department will put in place the necessary "oversight regime" by September 2021.
For the 2021/22 deer hunting season which starts on 1 September 2021 it will be a requirement for first time applicants to have the necessary training and certification.

The Department will put in place an appropriate oversight regime to ensure that the training and certification are delivered to an appropriate standard.

Unless its a legislative change then it won't be worth spit.
