Laptop, €500 mid range. Which one?

Budget is 500. Looking for a laptop. Must have 256ssd and 8gb ram at a minimum. Don’t need any physical media drive so would prefer a sleek look. No idea where we are with processors right now. Would I get some sort of ultra book for that and where. Thanks.

500 euro is still very much budget segment for laptops tbh.

700/750 euro is the start of mid range really.

Hi thanks for this, I checked out that VORKE laptop but having read a LOT of reviews on it I think I'll stay away, purely based on that this laptop isn't for me. It's for a friend.

What do people make of this one for 650?

Entry level... yeah I'm more looking for mid. The guy who wants it only wants it for email, photos, videos, donedeal etc. Having had a 400 euro laptop before I strongly advised him against it. He wants to use google chrome too which just eats up cpu's. Anything else on laptopsdirect that might suit? Plasticy is def out.

one thing about laptops that drive me crazy, when the 2 buttons are built into the tracking pad. you go to click on something and the mouse moves. a small thing, but it will grind your gears. something to bear in mind

matebook d 15 back in stock at amazon uk for £549

limited stock though it seems. I'd pick it up quick if you're interested.

should come back into stock sold through sold by amazon so set up some some of alert for the price going back down to 460 £ or something like that.

there is an additional cost to ship to NI for sellers on UK mainland using couriers so no.

neither of these are what the op is looking for though - metal chassis build (they are both plastic) and not bulky (even the smaller lenovo is over 2kg).
