I know it’s probably not feasible but I think we really should be testing a random selection of people around the country to get an idea of what kind of asymptomatic numbers we have in the country. I know we’re stretched with testing but it would make such a difference.

Plenty of time if you are one of the 1000s not working and also if you have an inderlying condition you ll do everything as much as possible to reduce the risk.

Sorry to quibble but the vast majority of the 2 trillion is not for laid off workers, nor are many going to see that for months

The current test only confirms you have the virus at the time of testing

Antibody test shows if you had it

Since mid Feb I know probably 25 plus people who had worse than normal persistent chest issues of some kind all of whom would like to get a test like that

The antibody test would be brilliant too but I meant for us to do the normal test so we could identify potential asymptomatic spreaders like they have done in Iceland. Maybe in a few weeks or months we can implement this.

What will our peak look like? It seems we are not to far away from it now. My worry is thing don't get much worse and things dont improve that much so it keeps is in limbo for a long time. So the restriction are doing a good job and the hospitals aren't overwhelmed but there still is 200-300 new cases being diagnosed and 15-30 deaths per day for a long period. Its hard to lift restrictions becuse the risks are high but its also hard to continue as we are because the risks to the economy are too great.

It would be great to get reliable antibody tests to see if people had it and had either really mild symptoms or none at all. Maybe down the line and it could be done at home.
