Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We're at the point now where ICU cases will recover or die - likely be the same every day from here on

We only had 4 icu cases at the start. While some may be cured the ones replacing them will be more numerous due to expontial increase.

Icu capacity will be reached sometime next week based on current trends.

"1500 tests or so a day for the last week"

so did we have 325 positives in one day from 1500 tests?

The close contact news is good, at the start it was 20 then 5 and now on average 3 which is really within households.

The next 2 weeks are crucial for us
I like the fact that they are not as inclined, as some individuals, to throw out predictions on when things may be changed or when it will end.

    Hi screamer

up to yesterday we were closer to the lockdown numbers, and better than i had hoped. yesterday and today are not quite as good, but as i keep saying it takes 14 days for any change we make to apply, so i hope were going to keep seeing numbers heading towards the lockdown numbers but i'm not saying we will just hope we will

    Regards

That 325 figure is based on a reduced rate of 1500 cases per day due to the lack of test kits

How much social distancing can you achieve trying to give a fella a suplex, power bomb, headlock or what have you ? It’s going to be sweat city. Again ‘teams’ of people working together to set up the ring, production facilities, ...physios, trainers, tv people... working in teams, as teams...

If it ends up somewhere in there that somebody or somebodies gets ill... that could very well be the end of WWE...

MIGHT have cost a fortune to cancel it but if it goes ahead and something goes wrong it could cost more then dollars.

    1500 tests/day.

Like I've been saying all along - this is a farce

How can they say we are flattening the curve and the measures are working when they are only getting results from 1500 swabs in a day....

Of course only seeing 200->300 new cases when the sample size is 1500.

Why do we always have thick people

Gardai shocked as middle-aged woman with coronavirus found travelling 'to post letter'

Gardai were left shocked after discovering a coronavirus-positive woman posting a letter.

The worrying incident happened recently in the south of the country.

A spokesman said: “Gardai in the south of the county encountered a car occupied by a middle-aged couple.

“The female passenger present informed us that she had been recently diagnosed as Covid-19 positive.

“Despite this diagnosis, they were travelling to post a letter.

“They were immediately directed to return to their residence to self-isolate in accordance HSE and Government guidelines.”

about than 11000 test last week. shocking really.

Yet over 90% of tests carried out to date have come back negative. I'd say the nations hypochondriacs are the main reasons for the delay in testing.

Icu capacity will be reached sometime next week based on current trends.

63% of people in ICU are under 65. Therefore if that trend continues there will be lot of young deaths.

Still think people have concept this is disease only affects eldery.

The case numbers are completely underestimated. The "flattening of the curve" we are seeing is clearly heavily influenced by the lack of testing.

I think that is because the CMO & Co now know what they will be asked and they say it first.

It would be pure speculation and fuel a frenzy really. Like look at the uk when 6 months was mentioned it erupted.

As was said last night by the professor doing the charts, he said to predict past a week would not be accurate

The rate of cases to tests is now 15 % which would indicate approximately 2170 tests. This indicates that the 2 symptoms rule is working l.

Also the contact rate has gone from 20 to 5 down to 3 which means the reinfection rate will be dropping.

Yes they have clearly said that the positive rate has gone up from 6-15% due to more focused target testing.

Wide spread testing is what the WHO recommend, so no test is really wasted .

I believe the swab part is OK, the lab kits is where there seems to be a big shortage of reagents. Negotiations underway.

94% of people are testing negative, we are referring people with symptoms.

There is no other way to do This.

    We’re a country of hypochondriacs.

We’re going to test the people who need it.

True and they had changed the threshold for testing. So this should catch more positives. people are staying home the virus will burn itself out over the next few weeks / month. Then we deal with the movement of people into the country.

The journos are trawling through boards

Paddy Cosgrave is on all their feeds.

It's a problem for the HSE cos twitter spreads muck whether they acknowledge a given account or tweet ot not, and if they do engage then they know they'll start a twitter fire and there would be endless charge and counter charge.

So on balance they are right to play dumb so to speak

People were swabbed because they were referred by their GPs who were following HSE guidelines.
They didn't just rock up to Croker off their own bat to get tested.

Yes, and GPs were referring anyone with a cough.
Hence the really High negative rate

This way we’re far far more likely to get actually cases and not those who a bottle of Benilyn will do the job for!

I would disagree we should be getting to people with symptoms first (reason that it is now 2 symptoms a WHO recommendation). The whole country and it mother was going for tests meaning does who should have been tested might not have been. It also considerable slows down getting results back

    I agree

But if we have a limited number of test kits....surely its prudent to have more targeted testing?

Like at a 5% positive rate, its hard to imagine its rampant outside of those being tested?

If gp doesn't see the patient their referral is based on what the patient tells them.

Ie lies for a test for reassurance.
