Apple Watch (S5) & offline Music (w/o phone)

    Hi All,


    I recently purchased an Apple Watch series 5 Nike edition.

    It's fantastic, I'm really happy with it, however there is just one thing that disappoints me: it is not possible to load Spotify music/or any MP3s to the device for offline playback when out running (without a phone).

    From my limited tech know-how, the only way to get music onto the Apple watch was to subscribe to Apple Music.

    --> Hopefully you guys can enlighten me on alternative ways to getting music on an Apple Watch (for offline playback) as Apple Music is dreadful. <--

    You can't add Spotify to your watch for offline use, but you can add music that is on your phone. I have music on my phone which I've added via iTunes (mainly older CDs). I have added a lot of these to my watch to use when I'm out running
