Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They had a post on Facebook earlier about a big raffle coming up at 8.30 this evening.
Site has been down for me since about 8.10.
Can anyone log in to see what they were putting up?

Targeted by Russian hackers looking ransoms apparently but they've put in serious system upgrades in the last couple of weeks to combat these attacks.

Imagine what it would be like if they hadn't done the serious upgrades in the last couple of weeks.

That grey Lambo was back spinning around the village last night - apparently the guy that won it took a cash offer instead as it didn't make sense for him to actually own a Lambo.

Ticket sales were 150k I think? 80k bit of a drop, I know you wouldn't get the ticket sales amount but it was surely worth more than 80k. I reckon I would have taken the car and held out for a better deal elsewhere.

You might not get a cash sale in the current climate so the 80K for a 25 quid raffle ticket might appeal.

Always someone with money for that kind of car no matter the climate.

Morgans have just reduced the price on one by 10K trying to shift it, they dropped the price on the McClaren as well.

I didn't say you needed to sell it in this country, North or South.

They are in an Industrial estate just outside Newry. Pictures were usually taken somewhere private (on a farm or under bridge etc.), but from looking at their last few posts seems they just put together a fancy new showroom. I assume that will be the new place for winners pick ups and photographing upcoming competitions etc.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 692 ✭✭✭unhappys10

Anywhere between 8 and 11.5k depending on model. Nox under 300 euro

Now that's better, near New, surprised seeing all the older stuff including motorbikes that aren't anything overly special....

    It's not 1975, 90 k is nothing.

    It's not 1975, 90 k is nothing.

Exactly, nearly 7 years old, roughly 13k a year, far from high. It's like people expect cars not to be driven or for the clock to stop at 40k odd miles.

As for older stuff, I'm sure Rkings won't lose any sleep over selling out draws without the input of people who think they are "too old".

I disagree, 90K is a fair whack of miles for a car.

I bet they have lots of cars with less miles on the books that they don’t raffle

I’ve yet to own a car that didn’t give trouble after 150K

I just not buying tickets for middle aged cars is all

And if this trend continues I will unsubscribe

Very childish looking web site that looks from Romania in in the late 90s

    90k is nothing.
If you are having trouble after 150k you are either buying the wrong cars or you aren't maintaining them properly.

I have a 94 Audi 80, 250k miles, flying it. So is my 99 A4 with 236k, another 200k easily in both of them.

    Can we agree to differ?

I had an Audi A4 that was prof maintained
The steering rack went etc. Cost me 4K + in various repairs after 150 K

Same with other cars prof maintained and I wasn’t driving them hard

Statistically as a car has more miles I feel it will have more issues

90s Audis and VWs were bulletproof compared to what came after them in
    fairness.

OH got the X5 finally VRT'd yesterday, €9435

Although the car was won the woman in the office made the the missus go to the local BMW garage to get the X5 valued, where the salesman said he couldn't understand why she was sent down there since the VRT office use a book value anyway.

    Ohh well, all done now.

Out of curiosity, did the vrt office go off the book value or the dealer value if they were different?

Is it just me, or would it be fair to say now that R kings have kind of ran out of steam lately? Looked at their website for the first time in ages over the weekend, and stuff seemed to be moving very slowly.

Have people moved on to another crowd or given up altogether?

I’ve noticed this myself, there hasn’t been many very quick sell outs recently, stuff like the m3 was up for 3 days I think. The €5 draws seem popular, I wouldn’t fancy those odds though!
