Ah now Duffy has had a tough time in fairness...she was kidnapped and trafficked...I would've envy giving her the gig

    Funeral singer = loaded.

Not really. I had Eimhear Quinn singing at my mother’s funeral, she only charged €200 for her service, so not that much, and with travel, tax etc not a huge earner.

A funeral band...growth industry in these times.

They do be doing the weddings as well...nice work if you have a note in your head or can strum a guitar.

So much mourning in the coming months....she is practically licking her lips at the dough!

She is also missing the sandwiches and drinks after too!

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,757 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Every weekend on RTE TV chat shows is a weekly mourning over something whether disease or death.

RTE live for the misery. This is their Christmas.

They were devastated they had to change the title of their Operation Transformation from Covid Nation.

Joe knows more about remembrances for british world wear 1 soldiers than the traditional actual Irish day. I'd say Charlie Flannagan is the same, and the woman with the 2nd home in west cork.

Never got this thing about seeing the departed.
My lot always just got stuck in a box and then in the ground or toasted, and never put on display.
Better to remember them as they were beforehand, iyswim.

Small funerals might catch on after this. Is there a need to shake hands with 500 people when you only know about 50? No siree. The death of the bone crunching random handshake. Hooray !

The type of funeral that is happening now is exactly what I would like for myself even in normal times. Dont like fuss while I'm alive, dont want it when I'm dead. Will leave a few bob for anyone wants a hoolie after I've gone.

My parents looked better deceased and done up than they had shortly before it. Most people don’t, though.
