Hi all, Im a fisherman fascinated by the river Dargle that rises beside djouce, running down through enniskerry and into the sea in Bray, and was wondering if anyone has any info or notable pictures to share of the river. I know that it was popular as a sporting spot for the upper classes in the 1800s and that it was a good sea trout river, but apart from that there is not much more information about it available online. Thanks in advance!

It is a lovely river - it's just such a shame that the locals don't appreciate a beautiful amenity.

Now that the long evenings are here - the Slang area and the new little park are full of litter, human and animal waste. And it's not just during lockdown either.

This happens year after year and the council refuse to clean or secure the area - but then again people should respect their surroundings enough not to act in such a disgusting manner. Not so apparently.

It's an absolute shame that this is allowed to go on.

Fishing on the Dargle seems to be the best kept secret in the world also. Some good fish run that river.

It could b one of the best rivers for sea trout in the country like it once was but the poaching is crippling it. No salmon and very few sea trout make it past the n11 bridge. Something has to be done to get it back to what it was 30yr ago.
