Have a blast and enjoy yourself.

Just remember the golden rule, if the barman jumps up on the counter and starts pouring shots down your gob.... to have a quick look around for camera phones. Ok?

Well Ellen scuppered my plans and I had to cancel!!
Typical the one night I plan and we get the mother of storms!

While I don't hate weddings I find it hard to drink after the large meal also. Christmas parties not so much. Less food?

I came across this video and thinking just how strict our drinking rules are and this is before COVID ever hit.

    When did this tradition stop?

There's still a few early houses around as far as I know. Not as many, but a few.

Probably not as much money in it when you are competing with house parties and pills after the pubs/clubs close?

Where do you think all the heads go after house parties?

I just had pints in Dublin...... Also what you have in front of you does not qualify as a pint.

Did a professional bar person hand you that?

I believe he's in Prague, beautiful city, great food and nightlife, pints pulled by Michael J fox.....

No, it's not a pint. It's a 0,5 litre of beer. Pint is 568,261 millilitres. Two different things.

Czech beer is the best beer in the world, no Heineken/Carlsberg/Tuborg or any other lager sold in Ireland is even remotely close to Pilsner Urquell, Budweiser Budvar, Staropramen etc.

Worse again, they only gave you half of one

The Czechs are very precious about their pilsner, and will claim that's the correct way to pour it. They are wrong of course, because then they would never drink it out of bottles.

Ah yes. Stupid oversized novelty glassware is a thing in mainland Europe.

Still tastes better than any pisswater you get in Ireland.

Don't forget one thing, Czech Republic is the cradle of lager beer. Czech beers are on top of the world.

And it's easier and more convenient to drink beer from a glass with handle. It feels like you're drinking beer, not a large lemonade that tastes like piss.

The style wouldn’t be my thing normally but I’d take some Irish lagers over any of them I’ve tried (Irish lagers does not mean Carlsberg, Heineken, or Budweiser).

I tried some of the Irish lagers... nah, impossible to compare with Czech beers. Czech beers are the best in the world, period.

If you like them. For me they’re poor enough fare.

Czech pilsner is fine if you're on a session, but it doesn't compare to Belgian ales, American ipas, cask ale or a good stout. And yes some Irish lagers coming through now are much better than Staropramen or Budvar (those rare exotic beers you can get in 90% of ireland)

btw. something to educate the uneducated. There's nothing wrong with plenty of foam in a glass. It's perfectly normal..

No they are not, and never will be. Sorry but nothing will ever be as good as czech beers. You can get Czech lagers pretty much almost anywhere in the world. Budvar and Pilsner definitely, but can you get Irish lagers abroad? I don't think so.

Grand, I won’t change your mind and you won’t change mine. If I was over there I’d drink it and then be delighted when I got home for a proper beer. Enjoy.

The difference between IRL and CZ.

When you go to your local Tesco you see piles of cans everywhere, some glass also but beer is sold mostly in cans. And majority is just average at best beer. It's only purpose is to make people drunk, the taste and what it gives you as a human being is not important. That's what's wrong with Irish beer culture. Majority of people just want to get sh**faced and that's it.

Here cans are obviously inferior to glass. To enjoy your beer you really should drink it from glass.

And they have them on pallets, only smaller breweries have their beers on shelves, but majority of bottles are in crates on pallets.

How fkin cool is this. Beer lover's paradise. Dozens of different kinds to choose from. And this is just a regular supermarket.

    umm.... no.

Guinness gives you strength, Litovel apparently also.

My pick, two from a brewery in northern Bohemia and the middle one is from Western part of Bohemia.
