40 years???Not a chance too many bleeding heart leftie lunnies will make sure he does less than 10. We've seen various frontline politicians writing letters and pleading for leniency on behalf of some very serious criminals who have committed atrocious crimes over the years, just recently we had Wallace and Gromit campaigning in court for better conditions for a crazed psychopath who went around the city centre attacking random people with a knife and who subsequently had his sentence reduced and is now a free man.

    Woefully ignorant post

They should get hand themselves in ASAP the fools. Martin Nolan is the judge. They'd be out by Christmas (as long as they weren't trying to smuggle garlic into the country).

    it wasn't gangland related

domestic with a knife produced it seems which meant an armed detective had to get involved had his gun taken off him and emptied into him a patrol car an nearby walls

According to reports the garda stopped the man on a motorcycle on main street castlerea. How do you get a domestic from that?

I read earlier the Gard was investigating an altercation when it happened

If the reports about RB and SMG are true, it must be the actual beginning of the end for DK

The Paddys aren't the only drug lords basing themselves in Dubai, can't be great advertisement for the country.

Two Sydney men arrested in Dubai have been labelled the kingpins of a major drug importation operation that police say brought nearly three tonnes of drugs into Australia.

Benjamin Neil Pitt and Matthew Battah were detained in Dubai last Thursday and face charges relating to drug importation. They are believed to have fled Australia as long ago as 2015.

An Antwerp drug lord suspected of running an international drug trafficking scheme and linked to several violent incidents in Antwerp has been arrested in Dubai.

Looks like Dubai is cleaning house to clean up it's reputation. Not a safe place anymore for high profile criminals.

Anyone shed anymore light on the circumstances surrounding the Gardas death? Statement from Gardai saying it isnt organised crime related but why would an armed guard be on patrol by himself then suddenly stop someone he knew on a motorcycle

Speculating but there could be an armed garda pressence if there was any of the feuding travellers around the area.
At this stage I don't think there's a county in Ireland that doesn't need an ARU team in it

Surely Tallant and co would be on it by now, if it was true what the whistle blower posted earlier.

Apperently the motorcycle was being driven erratically and there could well be a history of mental health issues with the driver of the motorcycle. Seems like a tragic set of unfortunate circumstances really.

Detectives carry guns. The fella that shot him was allegedly been searched and a scuffle happened and we know the out come. Cop could have just walked out of station to grab something out of his car seen the shooter SS possible known to him tried search him.

In the last few days two Australians were arrested in Dubai for involvement in drug dealing in Australia , The Aussies are going to seek extradition . Dubai is trying to give the impression it is tough on organised crime and drug dealing in particular , All the while ignoring one of their biggest resident drug dealers DK

None of the main crime hacks have reported on the Dubai arrests. It seems like just Twitter noise

He didn’t think twice about murdering the Garda so he definitely needs to be locked up forever. A scene from a nightmare played out in what I’d say was ultra quick. Wouldn’t say the Garda knew anything much he was killed so quickly I’d say. Absolutely scum of the earth to murder a man in cold blood like that.

The A team are still active in a big way despite some being banged up. Nephews cousins etc still doing big bits here.

Forget the post code bollox. That’s just young black drill rappers having their own beef. They are not main players just street shotters who make music with the odd one making more dough by being smarter and not involving himself in the politics.

Davey Hunt is the biggest of them all now, he's truly untouchable at this point. Pretty much a serial killer too.
