Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gonna try to get the house cleaned today. Usually do a big clean and disinfect on a Saturday. You know bleach all the door handles, disinfect all the floors. Will do it today so I'm free then for the long weekend. And what are my great plans for this weekend? ... I think what Axel is doing right now just about sums it up tbh...

I love Stay Alive by Jose Gonzalez. It's just such a lovely song. But lately some of the lines are really standing out in it. If you've never heard it I recommend, it's beautiful, although definitely not to everyone's taste.

Here's the lyrics. I think you'll get what I mean about some (most!) of it feeling relevant right now.

There's a rhythm in rush these days
Where the lights don't move and the colors don't fade
Leaves you empty with nothing but dreams
    In a world gone shallow
    In a world gone lean

Sometimes there's things a man cannot know
Gears won't turn and the leaves won't grow
There's no place to run and no gasoline
    Engine won't turn
    And the train won't leave
Engines won't turn and the train won't leave

I will stay with you tonight
Hold you close 'til the morning light
In the morning watch a new day rise
We'll do whatever just to stay alive
We'll do whatever just to stay alive

Well the way I feel is the way I write
It isn't like the thoughts of the man who lies
There is a truth and it's on our side
    Dawn is coming
    Open your eyes
Look into the sun as the new days rise

12,139 steps done, the heat was unreal and I had way too many layers on,it nearly killed me but it's almost wine time and I will be replacing the lost calories with wine and Keoghs shortly, despite the lockdown I've got that long weekend feeling.

Awaiting An Taoiseach to hear the invitable, but more interested in "the plan". I might grab a beer to comfort me.:D

Sometimes I wish I could lose track of time, but if anything, my workload has actually increased since the lockdown started. Doesn’t help that the teams I work with are spread between Sydney and New York, yay for time zones -.-

Believe me, I can’t wait for that bloody long weekend to start. 15 minutes until I literally drop everything... everything work related is...

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Sorry for the long post but I was sent this today and thought it was beautiful, since we’re sharing inspiring words.
Its by Nadine Anne Hara a well known poet, quoted by Jacinda Ardern, the New Zealand PM.

    Rest now, e Papatūānuku
    Breathe easy and settle
    Right here where you are
    We’ll not move upon you
    For awhile
    We’ll stop, we’ll cease
We’ll slow down and stay home
Draw each other close and be kind
    Kinder than we’ve ever been.
I wish we could say we were doing it for you
    as much as ourselves
    But hei aha
    We’re doing it anyway
    It’s right. It’s time.
    Time to return
    Time to remember
    Time to listen and forgive
    Time to withhold judgment
    Time to cry
    Time to think
    About others
    Remove our shoes
    Press hands to soil
    Sift grains between fingers
    🍃 Gentle palms
    Time to plant
    Time to wait
    Time to notice
    To whom we belong
    For now it’s just you
    And the wind
And the forests and the oceans and the sky full of rain
    Finally, it’s raining!
Ka turuturu te wai kamo o Rangi ki runga i a koe
    Embrace it
This sacrifice of solitude we have carved out for you
He iti noaiho - a small offering
People always said it wasn’t possible
To ground flights and stay home and stop our habits of consumption
    But it was
    It always was.
We were just afraid of how much it was going to hurt
    - and it IS hurting and it will hurt and continue to hurt
But not as much as you have been hurt.
    So be still now
Wrap your hills around our absence
Loosen the concrete belt cinched tight at your waist
    Rest.
    Breathe.
    Recover.
    Heal -
And we will do the same.

"You said "go slow, I fall behind!"
    The second hand unwinds.

If you're lost you can look and you will find me,
If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting.
    Time after time"

Coming into my other favourite time of day now. Just thinking through my next message to o.h...no liquified grapes tonight :)... I like this covid life.
