Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We have it because the kids like it, but it just tastes like a whole load of nothing to me!

Granddeod - you asked me on the other thread about travel history etc. I'm boring as feck tbh. Live in Manchester, have been back to Ireland once this year (mid February). Commute on public transport to work, or did until March 16th. I got ill on the 19th/20th.

I'm couchside, laptop out, trying to get my 4 year old new shoes because he's had a growth spurt and I haven't the energy to brave the giant Asda at Hulme to go and buy some in person. It's a total crapshoot whether he's size 11 or 12 though...

Cheers Rainbow. I was working in London and took a huge risk coming home to my wife and daughter last month, but my wife was prepared for the risk as she was frightened by all the stuff going on. I took a gamble and after 14 days had no symptoms so as I've been saying, if I catch it, I'll catch it here in Ireland. Funny you should mention kids shoes, me and Mrs G were only talking about if our daughter was in a change shoe every couple of months mode and how getting her fitted and shoed up would be a bloody nightmare.

Stay safe and best of luck.

Ye won't believe me but I'm here colouring!
I have an adult colouring book and pencils and I said it might be a big relaxing and pass an hour so here I am :)

Oh I have lots of them!
    Very therapeutic

Had a lovely steak, chips & fried onions for dinner, with a lovely bottle of red wine.
    Bed for me now!
I have a list for 2moro........ I should be doing things!

Just had the leftover Thai red chicken curry spilled onto some Airfryer chips. Gorgeous and hot. Winding down with a Lucozade zero and a Double Decker watching The Fast Lady from 1962. Made before my birth, but a classic all the same. Nighty night folks!

Now couchside chatting with him :)

This whole lockdown thing is making us all very very bored. And we have to find entertainment wherever we can. Even if our 'normal' selves would never dream of doing something, we might now find ourselves behaving in that very way out of sheer desperation brought on by this awful virus.

So what I'm trying to say is..

Did you and crowded house meet here on boards or does your relationship predate boards? And I know that's incredibly nosey but it's this lockdown! It has me itching for some gossip. Naturally I'm not usually so nosey!!! Nope. Not me. And also naturally you don't have to answer that!

You can buy a clarks foot gauge measuring thingy. They are cheap enough around 12 quid.

I bought one for mine as I'm not an "everyday is an adventure" parent and the idea of dragging them shopping does not appeal.

Now I just take measurement, pop into the online calculator and shop online. Limited stress :)

I said much the same in the What Do You Miss Most thread , or whatever it's called .
It's the physical contact with others , (lack of) that gets to you imo .

Virtual hugs to you Leggy , not much help I know !

Thanks Mam, it just seems to hit some days. Tomorrow is a new day though.

Right, enough self pity and time to haul myself to the shower to wash away the negativity!

I guess, in a roundabout way.....we should actually thank Gemma O'Doherty for this evenings news about the Gardai being given the power to enforce the new restrictions.
It'll make the holiday trippers a lot less likely to be venture to a caravan if they realise it could lead to a big fine and a few months away.

I'm in bed.... daughter had her first bad day today..so I was kinda busy keeping her amused,

Knackered after a few hour chess marathon online, to paraphrase the scripture of Jamiroquai felt like I was travelling without moving. In other news, better call Saul before the pigeon starts making a racket outside my window. Fleabag doesn't even wait for the dawn anymore, might tune in one of these days.

Honestly it was mad. How they could actually set up their own police, airport etc. Ship in homeless folk and nearly take over the county?. The fact that osho is a teaching worldwide now was something i didn't expect, glad i watched it despite it being kinda slow

I don't think Gemma is a well woman. She had a breakdown after the death of her husband. There's a lot of research in to why some people go down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories.

It was very slow alright , but it definitely is one of those documentaries that leaves you scratching your head and wondering wtf did I just watch ? !

Even at the end , how many still believed in Bhagwan and could see no wrong in him , was mind boggling .

Popping in to say hello all, and also to say goodnight! :D

Pleased here after a very long and at times incredibly stressful two days dealing with IT issues and problems with the computer printer and internet connection. My patience was wafer-thin to non-existent at times with all the problems cropping up that were affecting getting my online teaching and academic work from home done properly.

Most of the problems got ironed out this evening, and I felt a lot calmer after I felt I had confidence in the system working effectively for my course delivery.

Didn’t even get the chance to get outside for a good walk in the park in such beautiful weather - the best day of the year so far IMO. :)

As for Gemma O’Doherty, the woman is a deluded loon - but a potentially dangerous loon at that.

    Morning Wherers!

Currently beside, been awake since 6 lurking around Boards and Reddit catching up on things. I spent most of my evening yesterday starting to watch the series Banshee again. Great show if you like gratuitous violence, sex and bad language in your TV shows! It’s IMDb rating is impressive.

    Morning lovely Wherers!
Hit the hay early and had a dreamy sleep. Doggies delighted to see me … we were a happy bunch heading off for walkies! It’s lovely to see the calves out in the fields and hear birdies chirping happily. Cats with their bellies full very contented too. One thing I’ve noticed since social distancing began, is that all my neighbours have become flashers … instead of stopping to chat, there is an unspoken agreement to flash lights in greeting as we pass in cars. I smile when I see the twinkly lights. Saw my beautiful new niece again yesterday … she looked like an eskimo sunggled up in her warm coat! Adorable! Hope all are keeping well and have a good day.

    Morning all,

The covid has taken John Prine :( - I'm a fan

While I get the reasons, part of me is uncomfortable about these new powers the cops have, it's like turning us into a police state by a government that no longer has a mandate.

In other news it a nice sunny morning but cool just 4C

I think I'll have Weetabix for breakfast as I saw my first swallow yesterday and the summer is in :D

    Good morning lovely wherers.
Had a lovely sleep but still struggling a bit with waking think it’s still the after effects of the hour change.
4 day week in work and looking forward to a 4 day weekend. Might actually get to grips with some of the long finger jobs like weeding and cleaning the floors.
    Porridge and coffee time.

    Morning all,

The covid has taken John Prine :( - I'm a fan

Just started to really appreciate him recently. Very sad news.

I am having a struggle day. Have taken an hour out of work to just decompress. My sister, the most amazing, sweetest, smartest, most beautiful person on the planet starts work this week as a volunteer nurse assistant in Edinburgh and I am terrified.

She has a master's in psychology, has worked in some of the most prestigious university research programmes and is doing this coz she can't get a job she wants at the moment.

Please tell me she will be ok? I am so scared of losing the brightest light I have ever known.

My older brother, sister-in-law, some of my best friends and other family members are frontline staff but her volunteering to do this has hit me hardest.
