The 3rd and 4th digits are calculated off the account number and sort code, so nobody can tell you without them. You can use this site: https://www.ibancalculator.com/

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

    Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/boardsie-enhancement-suite/

    Chrome/Edge/Opera: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/boardsie-enhancement-suit/bbgnmnfagihoohjkofdnofcfmkpdmmce

  • Hi

I presume this is the same for an Ulsterbank Credit? Again trying to pay my UB credit card from my UB account

I've used the IBAN calculator, just double checking that the IBAN is giving me is bona fide? I presume this is a guaranteed bona fide safe website? Apologies as I'm just being double cautious here.

    Thanks

    Use AIB's if you're that concerned: https://aib.ie/personal-forms/bic-iban-converter

  • Thanks for that. It just seems a bit odd'ish that it only gives half the credit card number and no name to identify the card holder. I've never used it before so just being double cautious, many thanks for your help. :)

  • Hi again:

I paid my UB credit card bill on the afternoon of 7th April from my UB current account.

The payment hasnt shown up as yet.

    Any comments on that?

    Thanks

You do realise that this isn't actually a "Talk To" thread?

Have you tried contacting the bank?

Yes, thanks I was aware of that. When I was phoning the bank directly there was a long wait list and they were requesting emergencies only.

I was wondering if anyone had experience of the time it takes for this sort of transaction, ie: a new first time transaction and over a Public Holiday weekend. I would have thought first time transaction and PH shouldn't make a difference, but this is a bit of a concerning delay.

I was wondering if anyone had experience of the time it takes for this sort of transaction, ie: a new first time transaction and over a Public Holiday weekend.

Experience counts for nothing, the only rules the banks must follow are the SEPA processing rules. And those rules even result in Irish working days where the banks are not obliged to process transactions.

Banks are free to take a system out of production for possibly 20+ hours in the day and still meet their obligations, they are free to take systems down for a full Irish working day if it is a designated SEPA holiday and on other occasions they are obliged to process transactions even if it is an Irish holiday.

Checks the SEPA calendar holiday and assume that your transaction should occur no later that 24 hours after the cut off date as determined by the previous working SEPA day.

So it the cut off time was 17:00 on Thursday, then the transaction does not have to appear in your account until 24h on Tuesday. Anything else is a bonus and should not be relied up, say to cover a standing order that was intended to go through on Tuesday.
