    Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could help on getting satellite channels on a Triax 114 box. I've just cancelled Sky and and trying to get my combi box working again. I can get the Irish channels with my antenna, no problem. But when I do an auto scan of 'DVB-S' on the Triax, all I can get is some shopping and religious channels, such as Euronews. I guess that means that I am receiving signal, but there are no BBC or ITV channels....?

If anyone could suggest what to do, I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks, Al.

If you had SkyQ you may need to change the dish LNB.

    Ok, thanks.

Does it have a full list of transponders, can you do a blind scan.

If you had SkyQ you may need to change the dish LNB.

Yes, when Sky fit Sky Q, they replace the original LNB with a wideband LNB. This works in a different way to the original LNB, and results in exactly the situation you describe - the generic box will still get a signal, but will only be able to receive a very limited number of channels.

You can replace the LNB with the original (if they left it) or buy a similar one. Another option is to get a hybrid LNB which will allow you to tune in all the Free To Air channels, and also be able to use it for Sky Q if you ever decide to go back to that service.

All the good online Satellite specialist shops will be able to help you with any of the above.

If a Sky Q LNB is the problem you will get a different lot of channels (opposite polarization) by changing to the second LNB cable and doing another blind scan, maybe channels of more interest until you get around to replacing the LNB.
