Are you saying you were already on a social welfare payment and working part-time? If so id say the refusal is correct then as you cant be claiming 2 payments. Not saying its right just saying i think its correct . There are people who have been let go from part time work who are now getting more on covid payment. Its not perfect

You cannot get 2 welfare payments. You are getting Job Seekers Benefit of 203 euro because you are working part time - under 30 hours weekly - on the premise that you are actively seeking full time employment. 30 hours +. Hence, you have regular interviews to discuss your employment progress.

Thanks for the replies. On the X's and O's so not receiving a full social payment. The majority of money received per week is from the part-time hours.By no means giving out, alot more in a worse situation.

If you are a casual worker on ‘Xs and Os’

If you are a casual worker who submits dockets for the days you are employed, you should continue to do so if you are still working.

If you are not working because of COVID-19, you should inform your local Intreo Centre that you are out of work – and you will get the full rate of jobseeker’s payment.

You should not apply for any new payment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you are on Casual Jobseekers and have lost your employment because of the virus . You are entitled to ask for your claim to be suspended and receive the COVID19 payment. Email or phone your local office and they will sort it out.

Fair play,at least a few confused people now where they stand on the X's and O's.

That has since changed. You are entitled as I said to the COVID19 payment if it is less than you would receive if you were claiming a Jobseekers payment.

    From Citizens Advice:
If you were working casually and you became fully unemployed as a result of the pandemic, you can claim the COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment.
