Damn that should read Sound  System & TV for Man Cave!!

    Hi guys,

Looking at kitting out my man cave at the moment. Dimensions of the room are 10ft wide and 15ft long. Couch at one end & TV at the opposite end at the moment.

I won't be let splash another £2000+ on another OLED TV and sound setup for the sitting room like I did with you guys 2 years but I'm looking at the following below but I'm open to a steer on a TV and Sound System. Mainly for watching movies and playing games.

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203473-sonos-beam-black-inc-6-year-warranty-compact-smart-soundbar-with-amazon-alexa-voice-control.aspx = £339

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203862-sonos-one-gen-2-black-inc-6-year-g-te-voice-activated-smart-speaker.aspx * 2 = £318

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202954-flexson-s1-fs-floor-stand-black-single-sonos-speaker-stand.aspx * 2 = £99.90

Budget range on the TV would be around £350-400. Currently have a 42'' there but it feels a bit small but maybe thats cos I have a 55'' OLED in the sitting room. Not sure how big to go on the TV. What do you reckon on this? Replacing a 10-15 year old LG.

Appreciate you taking care of my brother 2 weeks ago who bought a TV with Soundbar, Subwoofer and TV Bracket.
    Hey OnLooker.

Thanks for coming back to us again.

The Sonos setup would be great for that size of a room.

At the moment we are out of stock of the Beams in the Black finish but there is stock of the white.
Stock on the Sonos One Gen 2 Black is currently running low. I do have these at the Belfast store but we are not sure when we can get back to get this stock.

Margins on Sonos is not the best so it doesn't leave much room for discounts unfortunately.
For the Beam, Sono One gen2 x2 and the stands x2 I could offer at a bundle price of £725.00

For the TV you could maybe look at the LG 49UM7400 coming in at £349
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-204085-lg-49um7400plb-49-inch-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-led-tv-freeview-play.aspx

Or there is a 55" available from Linsar the 55UHD8000FP coming in at just £299
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-204406-linsar-55uhd8000fp-55-inch-4k-ultra-hd-smart-led-tv-freeview-play.aspx

If you stretch the TV budget a little we have the Philips 55PUS6554 coming in at £369
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-204205-philips-55pus6554-55-inch-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-led-tv-freeview-play.aspx
I have one of these Brand New Boxed located at the Belfast store so there would be a delay on shipping this until we know when we are going back to the store.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Kenny.

Thanks for getting back to me. Picture wise would there be much of a difference between the LG and Philips?

I already have a LG OLED and find the software quite good. What is the Philips software like?

If I went with all white Sonos package how long would I be waiting for delivery?

The black Sonos could be a few months away from coming back into stock?

    Hey OnLooker.

The Picture on the Philips is good but its smart hub does let it down unfortunately.
The LG in my opinion would perform better than the Philips.

If you went for the Sonos in the White finish you fingers crossed would have it before next Friday.
Our next shipment from out main warehouse isn't due to leave until Tuesday 14th due to the Easter break.

To be honest I'm not sure when the Black will come back into stock as our warehouse is only taking small deliveries at a time.
I haven't seen an ETA yet coming through on our feeds for them.

Let me know what you think

I would probably prefer to wait for the Black Sonos. Small kids and white don’t go too well. I don’t need them until the start of June as this is a 40th birthday treat.

Would you be able to hold the items until then? You did last time I ordered last time and was getting the house renovated.

I wouldn’t mind paying now if you could do that. Any chance of doing me a boards deal or £1050 all in for Sonos bundle and LG TV?

    Hi Onlooker,

At the moment as all stores are using the same warehouse we wouldn't be able to hold items as stock is quite tight across all ranges!

If you even wanted to check in again around mid May we can check again for stock and see if there have been any deliveries. Unfortunately with the Covid-19 situation we don't have our Belfast store to be able to hold items and we can only ship from our main warehouse directly!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

Have been thinking about the setup and might go down the AV Receiver route instead of the Sonos 5.1 setup.

Would be great to get your views on this? Any pros or cons? The sound seems to be alot better using an AV Receiver plus Atmos support. Downside all the speaker cabling compared to the Sonos setup.

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-13860-denon-avrx2600-monitor-audio-mass-ii-5-1-av-speaker-pack-black-av-receiver-and-5-1-sat-sub-speaker-package.aspx

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-13920-denon-avrx2600-wharfedale-dx2-5-1-speaker-pack-av-receiver-and-5-1-speaker-package.aspx

I notice you have the Denon bundled with the Wharfedale DX2 & Audio Mass. Which one gives the best bang for buck? The DX2 has some great reviews.

Is there any way the Sony STRDN1080 can be swapped into the bundle instead of the Denon? Seems to be getting great reviews

    Hi OnLooker,

I would definitely recommend the AV receiver and speaker route. Not only will the AV receiver be able to decode more sound formats but the speakers will give a more enveloping sound as well with better spatial accuracy.

For the speakers I definitely the Mass speakers pack the best punch for the money. They're compact speakers but sound incredible!

The Denon is also a great amp but if you are looking for a Sony STRDN1080 I can do you a bundle on the STRDN1080 and a Black Mass pack for £799!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

    Thanks for the reply David.

The Sony is only £20 more when bought on its own but £50 more on the bundle.

When you add in the TV below what is the best price you can do all in for both receiver options. Are all items in stock?

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-204085-lg-49um7400plb-49-inch-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-led-tv-freeview-play.aspx

You knocked a few quid off one of the bundle deals even without a TV a few months ago:

    Hi Onlooker.

I think the price difference is because they is not the same room for discount on the Sony receiver as the Denon so we are unable to add the same discount to the Sony when paired with the Mass pack.

Our pricing can change from week to week so some times a price quoted a month a go can not be honoured as the cost prices ont eh items could have changed.
I have rechecked the Denon 2600 with the DX2 and I could still offer the £720 or 848 Euro price.
The best on the 2600 with the Mass would be the £749 as its already reduced down from £999 and is a fantastic deal.

The best price on the the 49UM7400 would also be the web listed price of £439.

For the 2600, DX2 and 49UM7400 would come in at £1069.
The 2600, Mass and 49UM7400 would come in at £1098.

In my opinion the 2600 with the Mass pack would be the better deal and the Mass will out perform the DX2 speakers.
    Both systems will sound excellent!

You would also require speaker cable and a sub link cable.
Speaker cable starts at the Symphony 100 priced at £1.19 per meter (If you let me know how many meters you might require I can work a price on it for you).
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-900187-cambridge-audio-symphony-100-speaker-cable-per-metre.aspx

Sublink 7.5m priced at £19.95 - I could offer one of these for £15.00
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-10538-cambridge-audio-aud100-7-5m-subwoofer-cable-subwoofer-lead.aspx

All items are currently in stock, although the Mass in the dark finish is very very low.

    Let us know your thoughts.

    Kenny.

    Hi Kenny,

Not a very big room but I reckon 25 meters of speaker cable should cover it off. I've added 3-4 metres spare just in case.

Let me know whats the best price you can do on the 2600, Mass, 49UM7400, Sublink & Speaker cable.

All covered by the 6 year warranty too?

    Thanks

Back again with more requests. Only 2 months since my last purchase. :D

My dad was a very similar setup to mine but a slightly smaller room (7ft wide by 13ft length).

He is looking at the following TV:

He already has an Sony AV Receiver with 5.1 setup but is looking at dipping his toe into Atmos.

For such a small room would you need 4 Upfiring Atmos speakers or would 2 be okay?

He looking at some of the following:

    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203576-eltax-monitor-atm-dolby-atmos-speakers-per-pair.aspx

Any pointers would be great or is it worth spending a bit more?

Any boards type deal for 2 combos above?

My dad was a very similar setup to mine but a slightly smaller room (7ft wide by 13ft length).

He is looking at the following TV:

    Hi OnLooker,

Good to hear from you again!

For a small room you would definitely get away with 2 upfiring speakers! We have quite a small dem room and use two which gives a great representation of Atmos! You would just need to make sure your amplifier is cabable of decoding and running an Atmos soundtrack in 5.1.2!

The best Atmos speakers to go for out of those two would be the Eltax Monitors however I am actually out of stock of both at the moment! The only Atmos speakers I would have in stock at the moment would be the Dali Alteco C1 in black at £289 but we also have them for 289 euro which works out much better than the sterling price! They are fantastic speakers which can be configured as upfiring or downfiring Atmos speakers!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

Thanks David. Yeah he has a Sony 1080 so will be fine on that front.

He doesn't want to spend that much so will probably have to wait for the others to come into stock. Probably a few months I would imagine?

    Is the TV in stock?

    Hi OnLooker,

Thanks for getting back to me!

I don't have an ETA on them at the moment but they've been out of stock for a while. I will certainly keep my eye out for them!

The LG is also currently out of stock, it should be back in sooner than the Atmos speakers but I have no ETA for these at the moment either! I'll keep my eye out for an ETA for you!

    Kind regards

    David

    Hey OnLooker.

At the moment still no ETA for more arriving unfortunately.

They are not showing as clearance so hopefully this means stock will arrive back into us.

Keep your eye on our website and once the "Buy It Now" button appears on the product page they will have came back into the warehouse.

    Kenny.

    Ah sorry about that Onlooker.

I had just been using them as reference as to what different Atmos speakers can be used.

Monitor Audio are also due to release a version like this so there might be some good deals to be had on them once the land wit us.

I'll keep you in mind for when they do and see if I can sort you a good deal on them.

    Kenny.
