I managed to get myself sunburned on a cloudy may day in Ireland. My luck is out.

That happened to me years ago. Cloudy day sitting at a beach with a sea wind burnt the face off me and I tan !
TA is sitting on the bowl , reading boards and the 6yo bursts in scaring me and her. I need to start locking the door !

When doing the food shop yesterday I decided I would pick up some of those bake at home bread rolls for lunch this week. They only had Paul Hollywood's bread in Tesco, all others were sold out.

Just finished baking them and there was no gorgeous smell of freshly baked bread in the kitchen and they are also tasteless

Hopefully I'll be able to get Country Kitchen in SuperValu/ Dunnes during the week.

I hate it when they don't add a pinch of salt to the dough: the bread doesn't taste of anything. It's like baking cakes using only sugar, or cooking pasta without adding salt the water first - bland, bland, bland. That pinch of salt makes all the difference.

Met a lad I worked with for a while years ago recently. He kept saying "this is the new normal" during the conversation with a zealot's fervor.

First they came for the socialists...

On the bird theme, had to clean up a dead bird in the back garden. Mank!!!

Pre kids I would have left it there and let nature take its course... But yeah, this is the downside of parenting... Shudder

Yeah sad to see. Looked bigger than a fledgling so not sure if a cat got it or it was in a fight.

    It's mank all right.
A few weeks ago we had what appeared to be 2 unborn baby bird corpses in our garden. Like they were stolen from an egg and then dropped. They were only about an inch long and featherless.
Was gagging putting them in their final resting place.

Also, whenever a kitchen cleaner says it's streak free on the bottle it's usually the most streak leaving cleaner known to mankind.

Glass cleaner in a bottle. Yet to find one that actually cleans the glass rather than just smearing the dirt all over it.

Could have been anything, including other birds preying on them, or even cuckoos hatchlings in that very nest, or they could have fallen out with bad gusts of wind, etc. Yes, cats are a distinct possibility, but not the only one.

Finally got round to starting season 3 of Killing Eve last night. Leaving aside how mediocre it was, I had to switch off in the middle of the 3rd episode due to the insanely high number of instances of noisy eating. Now this is something I'm relatively sensitive to normally, but I just dont get how the fcuk any writer or director thinks people want to listen to someone slurping or chewing while delivering dialogue. Anyway, its gone pretty sh!te anyway, so wont miss it

This season is fairly crap alright. Last week's episode on RTE was by far the worst.

Saw two individuals bringing small armies of children on a tractor and a quad bike earlier, do people not learn from farm tragedies at all?

Get them up our way too. Last guy we saw (was about a week into the lockdown) had all his kids on scramblers, including a little 3 year old on an electric one. FFS.

TA my roast potatoes are a lame oily mess. I just can't seem to master them.

    Too much oil then !

parboil them then use an oil spray - lightly coating them each side - season and cooked for 40 mins

Thank you, I'll give that a shot.

TA that I had planned on having a picnic in the park tomorrow with my best mate in the sun but now it's forecast rain.

Almodt dropped a plate earlier doing the dishes. Saved the plate but bent my fingernail the whole way back and its throbbing now.

People keep using nonsense words I don't understand like gaslighting.

TA that I've noticed user's posts disappearing a lot lately. Do the mods not have to edit a post with a reason or something instead of deleting it outright?

I hate all these bull**** terms that have infected conversations nowadays and end up becoming the norm. Virtue signalling, ghosting bla bla bla. Why does everything have to have a label? Do they mostly come from America?

Yeah, made in america crap, distributed online. The world is becoming yankified. That's another TA, more and more irish children nowadays sounding like they were reared in Los Angeles

    Photo uploaders.
Why can't we post pics lke we would on twitter or WhatsApp?

Download an app. Photo takes an age to upload - then an error message. Over and over.

Download another app. First pic, fine. Second pic, it turns sideways.

    Grrrrrrrrr

What upload app do people use for posting pics here, from their phone?
