Illness Benefit - How Long?

    Hi
    I applied for illness benefit on March 9th, forms sent by post. Standard illness benefit, not covid related.
    Employer advised today that they have received no payment as of yet (they are paying me so illness benefit going to employer)

    How long should this take to go through?
    Rang but answer machine says they aren't taking calls at the moment.

    I understand they are swamped but this would have been just before all the madness happened!

    Tell me about that...went sick covid related....14 days...applied on 26.3. App pending... 15 years working never been of....

    rang office...they said thst they have massive backlog and prioritise unemployment benefits atm....so ...i am lost of words... almost month now.... thanks lord i am working but my fridge is empty untill i get paid again.... i am even upset...on the edge to become angry...as the people around me getting 350 for being at home...and working here and there...
