    This man should be captain.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg sent Sergio Reguilon a long WhatsApp message when he first joined Tottenham Hotspur that made a big impression on the the Spanish left-back.
Both players arrived at Spurs ahead of this current season and have quickly become big personalities within Jose Mourinho's squad and firm fan favourites with their impressive performances on the pitch.
Midfielder Hojbjerg was signed from Southampton in August with Reguilon joining from Real Madrid a month later.
The Spain international revealed that when he arrived it was the Dane, despite only being new to the team himself, who sent him a long welcome message.
"One thing that nobody knows is Pierre, when I didn't know anything about Tottenham, he sent me a message in WhatsApp," Reguilon told presenter Ben Haines on Spurs' N17 matchday online show.
"He said 'Hi I'm Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, I hope you do well and we need you. I want you to do well for the team'.
"I was like 'What?, What?' and now every time I see him I say 'Pierre, you remember it' and he says 'yes, yes'."
The defender added: "It was a big message (stretches his thumb and forefinger far apart).
"He spoke about the training centre, the team-mates, about the coach, about all [of it]. I was with my father and I said 'look Dad!'."
The message clearly left a mark on Reguilon, who acknowledged how crucial having support is when you arrive in a different country.
He said: "When you are arrive to a new stadium and a new country, it's important to have people and players that help you and Pierre does that."

Alderweireld should have been captain the last few years, with Harry and Hugo vice

100% should be Hojbjerg next season. He's one of very few that looks like a man doing a man's job when the chips are down, and is the only player I've heard speak up on the pitch during games in years.

very quickly emerging as the real captain both on and off the field

Do you just mean dodgy as players?

As much as I'd love to think the shackles might be let go somewhat if anything they'll be tighter than ever.

Dont be 1-0 down at halftime will be the bold message

I mean dodgy - as in 'kinda' injured .. :D

Everton are playing well (better then we are), so it'll be a tough match. Jose is great at cup ties though, so we'll probably win it 1-0...which is fine :)

Id be delighted with 0-1, cant see us keeping the 0 part though.

So far Jose has been a lucky general with the cup draws. We beat Chelsea on pens but the rest have been Marine, Wycombe, Brentford and even a bye. I have a horrible feeling that an in form Everton are going to start removing Jose’s last protection, the “good” cup runs which, in reality anyway, have been unimpressive wins where we were massive favorites.

Im glad Kane's not starting. Would be even better if we could win a game without the need to bring him on. I'm not too hopeful about that though.

I'm delighted Kane is benched and hopefully we won't need him.

I'm going to predict a three one win.
    Son and bergeign brace

Certainly far from a second string team. Shows where Jose’s priorities lie.

Mind you, we could rest the entire team and would probably still lose to Man City next weekend the way they are playing right now.

Why cant we start every game like this. Positive football

Intercepting a lot in midfield, plenty of sharpness

Still looking like risking it a bit at the back, dunno why

    Should have saved it

But even before then, not gonna blame hojbjerg because we played ourselves into trouble and for no reason

Been doing that the last twenty minutes, why we'd ask our defenders to do that i cannot understand

    Should have saved that too

    Defenders very easily beaten there

Wow, 3 goals in 6 minutes. We could be in for a right hammering here now. Need half time to sort their heads out but I can't see them coming back from this. Embarrassing stuff.

I thought that too, not intentional at all, and barely touched him but it's still a foul unfortunately.
