Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Now, interestingly, he was unable to bring himself imo to break *his own squad* apart when the time came, and he was unable to adapt to *his own tactic* when it was found out, and when his passion fell, the squad had none of their own

Wasn't he very unhappy especially the summer after the CL final that the Spurs board would not back him in selling and replacing a number of the squad - alderwerield for example? I certainly read that he felt the squad needed a refresh that summer, and the previous summer.

There were a lot of mixed messages around it all, Mitch.

Does Levy bear a heavy responsibility? Undoubtedly.

Did Pochettino insist on specific players and say no to everyone else? It seems so, too.

The media is starting to brew up the storm...

4 games to save his job, then Naaglesman joins us ?

Kane will tell Levy he wants to leave to win trophies if form doesnt improve.

Some players are unhappy with Mourinhos training - too defensive, too focused on the opposition , not as intense as Pochs were (but, didnt they complain that Pochs were too intense ?!???)

    Crazy season....

Out of everything that needs to change, id say two champions league level centre backs need to come in

At best, one and toby/sanchez/rodon cover with the hope that the latter two come along in a better system

After that, sure change manager but if we continue presenting dier or sanchez as they are and tell any manager one of them is a starting cb then telling him top 4 and trophies are the aim in the same breath....well at that stage that new manager should just announce a joint press conference with jose and poch under a banner LEVY OUT

12 points from the last 13 matches. That form simply can't continue, and it will be Jose who goes if it does. We can blame the players all we want, but its the managers head that rolls in pretty much every scenario like this.

I want Jose to succeed. But if not, I'd love Naaglesman at the club. Can't see it happening though.

They must not be fcuking listening.
Im backing Jose. Massive gamble going for Naaglesman, and we end up in the same situation in two years time, then sack him and move onto the next fashionable manager. Load of bo...ix

Players talk about systems like any system can work if you miss tackles and passes and cannot control a ball and arent even running to cover

Fans talk about individual players then

A bad manager points to the latter also, tbh, even if correct. A good manager addresses it or removes that player.

A bad chairman points at managers despite the underlying issues remaining the same

media bias to jose and spurs is crazy, as you say they are **** stirring

sky commentary on sunday was actively trying to sell Kane

not sure about nagelsman but i would love his CM sabitizer

Not sure about Nagelsman, think he would be the exact opposite of Jose but all pure speculation at this point. I do think fans not being at matches is working in Jose's favour because if they were at games they would make their feelings known about wanting him out.
As I've said before the strength in the team is in its attack so to even think about sitting back, defending is a mad game with our calibre of 'defenders'. I still think, even with that defence, that we are capable of winning the EL if our attackers hit form and Jose sticks with a regular back four. If Bale can build on his performance on Sunday we will score goals against any team.
All the stuff coming out of Jose now is typical of him and shows that he hasn't really changed when things turn sour (and was never likely to in reality). Rodgers name also being consistently mentioned, I think the wheels have started moving against Jose at this stage.

    Dead man walking now.

Sky will have him gone, and Kane and Son unsettled by the end of the month.

Its the hope that kills yaa.

I just want someone who will beat the rubbish teams by attacking them. Even if we have to rinse and repeat and change managers again in two years it’s preferable than letting this continue.
Half the playing squad needs to go so not a tempting job anymore

    Tottenham Vs Wolfsberger Ac
    Weds 24 feb.

Ko 17.00 - live on Bt Sports 2.

Right-back Serge Aurier and midfielder Giovani Lo Celso have both returned to training, but neither player is expected to be fit enough to feature on Wednesday.

Centre-back Joe Rodon won’t be involved as he is ineligible to play in the Europa League, although Jose Mourinho has said that a number of Academy players including striker Dane Scarlett, full-back Marcel Lavinier, attacking midfielder Dilan Markanday and central midfielder Nile John – the latter outstanding for the Under-18s at Aston Villa over the weekend – could be on the bench.

Why is the game on Wednesday ??

Europa League matches are traditionally played on Thursday evenings.

However, with arsenal also facing a home game in the round of 32 this week, the decision was made to switch our fixture to Wednesday to avoid having two teams from the same city playing at home on the same night.

arsenal’s match against Benfica on Thursday has since been switched to take place in Greece, but our match remains scheduled for Wednesday at 5pm UK time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Hope some of the young lads get a run out. Wish we had Rodon in the team, to get him some more minutes.

Start Dele and Bale, along with Vinny.

Surely that’s irrelevant if there are no fans?

I hope so! Really thought he would have given Bale 90mins this evening. When is Bergwijn ever gonna come good?

Nice how the buildup was finally a few players in a row testing defenders but making sure not to lose the ball, very nice from lamela especially cutting in

So reggie doesn’t get a game when he needs mins and just as bale is starting to show signs he doesn’t start? Surely the two lads should’ve started?

You would think this would be the perfect game to get them back upto speed. Build up a bit of confidence also.

    Ah now

If bale had started itd be "he is second string", id say he starts in the league which is a promotion

reggie maybe is a case of taking it easy but same thing, hes first xi this is a second xi game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,700 ✭✭✭Glebee

You can forget about sissoko as well. Under no pressure could not pass 5 yards to team mate.

That centre half line is all over the place

Otherwise this is bright on a number of fronts again

    Stupid from doherty absolutely needless

For a clean sheet so far against nothing opposition, Dier has put in one of the most inept displays you will see. His headed clearances, under no pressure, are the worst decisions you could imagine every single time

Vinicius poor up front, also making wrong move every time

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

How was that not a 2nd...

Credit for getting a bit more involved tho, nice moves up to finish

    Dier very very lucky there.

Great cross from Dele there, good finish by Vinny.

    Nice cross and header

Horrible to be so easily near disaster other end

Red card for dier for me on replay and utterly shocking decision from him

    Very lucky

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Oh for sure, definite foul and goal scoring opportuniy there. Guess it can't be reviewed by VAR as the ref said no free and it was outside the box?

    Yep

Lamela has looked a class above tonight

Mon jose get a youngster on and the booked man off

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Bale coming on now, for Bergwijn I would assume.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,791 ✭✭✭✭tom1ie

Sometimes I wonder about lamela. Looks really good and then doesn’t cut the ball back to vinny when that’s the obvious decision. Instead he goes for the tougher option.
He’s having a good game all the same though.

Davies is at his level against these guys again, winks likewise.
