Skinner is good and appears way more often obviously but I love Phil Hartmans characters and I think Troy is more quotable than Skinner.

Krusty has some great lines but I've never warmed to him as a character - I get he's meant to be a dick but even compared to other dick-ish characters he just leaves me a bit cold.

This one is tough, because I think most of them deserve to be in the second round.

Maggie is a core character, so should be the obvious choice here.

However,

I really enjoy Bleeding Gums Murphy even though his appearances are few and far between.

Comic Book Guy has some great moments and I'd also rate him highly.

I'd also really like to see at least one of Patty and Selma advance, and I'd be fonder of Patty.

I did watch the Playdate With Destiny short the other day and I think Maggie is hugely underrated simply because she's a non-speaking character, so my vote will have to be for...

Ouch. I'd have opted for Patty and Selma as a double act but it's difficult to take one without the other.
James Woods is a dickhead in real life so he can fúck off.
Bleeding Gums....meh, decent in terms of developing Lisa as a character but not too distinct in his own right (apart from the brilliant Blind Willie Witherspoon scene)

Maggie has some great moments too (particularly in the Streetcar Named Desire epiosde) but can't really do too much as a character.

Disco Stu is amusing but a one-trick pony.

So Japser vs Chalmers vs Hibbert vs Comic Book Guy......tough to choose but I'm gonna go for Dr. Hibbert. *laughs inappropriately*
