    Well I know a few of the other types, of what were once called tinker's and still living the tinker lifestyle, slightly bohemian and creative and artistic...

    Mannerly and lover's rather than fighter's, and they're ashamed of the one's giving them a bad name.

    They're not all bad, they never bothered me to be honest as I'm not in their path much.

    Sounds like I'm in an ivory middle class tower, far from it I'm down a boreen in the sticks and rugged Burren, but if they came onto my land they would be standing for long, I've a few puck goats and they're quite territorially proud..

    In Eastern Europe the repeatable offender face a compulsory prison term (no suspended sentence), and the length of the term is normally longer than for the first time offenders.

    The 60-100+ convictions which are common in Ireland, are impossible there as it will take 100-s of years.

    Eastern European countries likely don't have the excess solicitors seeking legal welfare like we have here.
    Part of the reason for our lax attitude to prison time is to keep said solicitors in work.

    You made a statement about a family of travellers involved In some form of slavery as if they were the king pins of the practice.
    I gave you an example of people killed whilst been trafficked.
    Did you think they were all destined to work in Whitehall?

    But your argument has nothing to do with what we are talking about....

    If you want set up a thread about that... Oh wait there was.... The dude or dudes involved are scum but don't forget the people willingly got in there and paid for that.....

    No excuse for them to die like that but travellers have attacked mostly elderly in their homes and many have died painful deaths as a result....

    I don't know if you contribute to society in any shape or form.

    Anyway, for those of us that do, we are concerned that our tax contributions are being spent on a group of people who insist on living off the State, i.e. us.

    Not alone that, they insist on causing misery & trouble everywhere they go.

    All taxpayers have a right to complain loudly about this group of people.

    Why?

    WE PAY FOR THEM AND THEIR WORTHLESS 'CULTURE'.

    We have every right to complain and complain loudly as long as they live off our taxes.

    They contribute Zero to our society. Not alone they bite the hand that feeds them & they chew it off to the elbow without any thought.

    They have a sense of entitlement that beggars belief!:confused:

    Bottom line.

    They need us a lot more than we need them.

    Anybody that does not understand that is way worse than them.:mad:
