Waiting outside local tesco last week like everyone else and guess what Community come along and start thinking they own the place.

What a great bunch. No social distancing, no care for anyone else.

By comfortable life I mean financially comfortable. Travellers can often be seen driving nice cars and such. The media often cites poverty with regard to travellers ignoring the fact that we have very little official information about traveller income. Wealth estimation based on possessions like vehicles is often used as a metric.

In settled "culture", you often see people driving nice cars, it doesn't follow that they're living within their means or very well off otherwise. They may be, who knows?

In traveller culture that heavily emphasises so called honour and pride, showy possessions like those cars may be their only asset.
Look. There's ones that have the fleet of cars and holiday home in Rathkeale and the main home in the UK, ones that have a modest council house and the fancy car and ones that have a caravan and battered van on a halting site.

We have very little information, I can't see travellers falling over themselves making tax returns and filling up Census forms, why would they? What's in it for them? Grey or black market income streams making things even more unclear.

Typical generalisations being made here. You've all had plenty of time to make your points. I'm sure, given the chance, many of you would continue with the same old arguments repeatedly. No point in continuing this discussion further

And if anyone feels the desire to start another traveller-bashing thread because they have had the oxygen removed from this one think again. If there is something that really is newsworthy it can be discussed, but only in respect of that news and not as another general traveller-bashing thread
