Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apologies in advance for the essay...so I applied for jeep and trailer test back in February before the world went mad..I've now recieved a test for dec17th..just looked at my learners license and its expired since August
I have a full car and truck licence..
If I got a test does that mean I am ok? As in the department surely know the status of my licence

The department would check the status of your learner permit. It’s your responsibility to ensure it’s in date on the day of your test. Go to the NDLS website and input your learner permit number for the BE. You’ll no doubt be entitled to an extension due to covid

Applied for test on 28th of July, got test date for 22nd of December in Deansgrange.

Wondering will I just be sitting in traffic for the entire thing! ha!

Have my test in Cork - Wilton tomorrow. Feeling fairly confident - will do well in reversing, turnabout and hillstart. I fear little mistakes (grade 2s) may catch me but we see how it goes.

Let us know! I've mine on Thursday, feeling the same way about it.

Practical question - are the RSA going to do anything over the coming weeks and months to address the huge backlog? Is anything actually being done to improve the situation?

Is anyone else having issues with the new booking tool? I get an error message when I try to register and if I try to login via MyGovID it just refreshes the page.

I got lucky on the new booking tool, refreshed the page for 30 mins and a spot came up in Tallaght. I applied back in summer. The only confirmation I have is this screenshot, didn’t receive any emails or anything, I’m panicking now that it was an error and I’m not actually booked in.

I would assume that if you have a reference number then you have been assigned that slot. Two weeks in advance of my test I got a stream of text messages with the details of the booking and what to bring. If your test is this month you should be getting that soon so you'll know?

I'd give them a call if you're worried about it. But I'd imagine if it's that soon you'll get a few texts from the RSA about preparing for it in the coming days which should confirm things. (edit: as Twee already mentioned in fairness!).

I wouldn't panic, I got the exact same result booking mine the other day. Assume it's just the short time period and new website. Much handier now actually, if you do do pass you can apply for the licence online with a mygovid account. No waiting for an NDLS centre appointment.

Yeah I found out just today about getting the license online, really handy! (If I pass) :D
