    Hi

Bit of a complicated one here I need to appoint a PDSP and I have got a quote of €1500 for Prelim H&S, lodge AF1, couple of site visits and prep of the safety file

    Is this about right?

Normally I would get another quote and I tried but I have a bit of an unusual design team setup where my engineer is not doing the PSDP she normally subs this out to the firm I got the quote off. Another PSDP firm turned me down saying that it should be my engineer should be doing it (and they are probably right...) so I just need to know if this quote is about right and if it is then I will go ahead.

    Thanks

Are you self building? Employing your own trades etc? Then price seems fair, considering the perceived risk.

Why won’t the engineer do it?

Sounds like a reasonable quote to me.

They are a small engineering firm only a 2 person setup so I think they normally sub the PSDP role out to a specialist if asked.

I have a bit of a complicated setup :o My original Architect was 11 years ago who are a very large commercial firm with offices in Cork Dublin and China! I caught them at a moment of weakness 11 years ago in the middle of the last financial crisis (my timings are briallant ) but obviously are not interested now in managing a one off houses (unless it was couple of million)

My current Architect is some one that was highly recommened to me by a number of people but was so busy could not commit to supervising the job but he suggested the Engineer can do it (and they agreed). I was happy enough with that as I was doing this in stages because of building prices were so crazy I was unsure I would actually build it until I got tenders back.

I think I will go with this guy as obviously he has worked before with my engineer before and has confidence in them.

    Thanks
