Well I recently turned 45 and I decided to put together a list of 50 things to do before I turn 50 and I am looking for help with ideas from the good people of Boards.

Here are some of the ideas I have so far:

    Surf in Hawaii
    Visit Tokyo
    Learn Italian
    Get a six pack
    Do a Triathlon
    Buy a classic car
    Learn to ride a motorbike

Would love to hear some ideas for things to do to make the next 5 years the best ever.

Six pack could be very tricky from an age point of view but I absolutely love the concept and the list so far.

Maybe i could suggest the running of the bulls in Pamplona?

Really the best thing you can think of is going to that sh1t hole?

    Walk Ireland's highest mountains.
    Jump out of a plane.
    Learn to fly fish
eat in a Michelin star restaurant
Spend over €50.00 on a bottle of red wine so far mine topped €89.00 and it was the wine that just kept giving it was in Spain so it might cost a little more over here. :pac:
    Smoke a really nice cigar.
Go to a beutifull island for a hoilday.
Learn yoga( seriously I did my first session today and it blew my mind)
    Learn how to Sail

I did the same for my 40th its fun to complete, some of mine were:
    Learn an instrument
Go busking (I did Cork City and raised 280euro for charity)
Streak a major sporting event (I wore a comedy nude suit and streaked ladies beach volleyball at the London olympics)
I did Vegas which ticked a few boxes, shoot a machine gun from a helicopter, ranching, camping in the Grand Canyon, Western horse riding, got married
Cycle >100 miles (Ring of Kerry)
    Join a whiskey club
Unusual holidays - I volunteered to build homes in Africa, went mine clearing in Vietnam, Worked in a animal reserve / sanctuary Zimbabwe

In fairness spending a day in Vegas does sound like more fun than spending a day standing in a river with J.R. Hartley.

Disagree. Bleeding money under the pretence that you are having 'fun' versus a calm day in the great outdoors potentially catching something tasty for your supper? I know which one sounds more appealing to me.

Might be an unpoular opinion but this seems extremely selfish and self-centered

    Lean to scuba dive
    Go to an El Classico
    See the Northern Lights

Certainly was but is that not one of the objectives of a things to do before you are XXX list? I was a young lad in the 80's and remember vividly Erica Roe streaking Twickenham and watching live at the time which was the inspiration.

As long as you add some balance, in my case was giving money and effort to charity and creating family memories. My streaking comes up in most family gatherings so it's a nice ice breaker but I paid my dues and then some for the incident.

    A few suggestions
    Sail across an ocean.
Scuba dive on a tropical reef
    Do a safari
    Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge
Do the Wild Atlantic Way - drive, cycle, motorcycle. Camp, hillwalk, surf, swim in the sea, etc.
    Climb a mountain
    Learn to ski or snowboard
Restore a classic car or campervan for a big roadtrip.

I heard a good one recently where someone was doing one cheap European city break per month for a year.

One for me is take the train across America ,Jump off and on at different spots get a car when need and on to the next place. Billy connly did a doc on this looked good.
Think you can buy a unlimted train ticket.

How about learn to sail, Sail across a fecking ocean:eek:

not that tricky, harder than your 20s but with a coach it be simple enough.
    just takes time and effort.

But good call on the bull run!

Do Intermittent Fasting and a Keto for a few months properly with a little exercise and you’ll be well on your way.
