House plant with white dots on it

I have an indoor house plant from Lidl for months now. In recent days I've noticed white dots on the new leaves - they almost look like bugs. It also looks like the leaves are 'sweating'. Anyone have any idea what it is or how to treat it?

Either scale insect or mealybug (Coccidae), I think. The plant is a ficus. Soapy water and/or diatomaceous earth is your best bet.
