Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

People are describing this as being the sickest they have ever been.

Besides, Ryan Tubridy, I haven't heard anyone else with a mild dose.

So is anyone else mild out there?

2 neighbours in their 60s had it, stayed at home, slight fever for a few days and that was it.

Only tested because they were in England and people they knew there developed it.

Two people I know have it and both, while not in hospital, are extremely ill with it.

Not trying to be a smart arse, but maybe people with mild cases don't know they have it? A lot of people still write off mild symptoms as a bit of a cold.

I know one person who tested positive for it, they described it as very mild, no different to an average cold.

Pardon me. Question was asked and answered. Apologies if a negative answer offends you.

In some countries many who have had it had no idea they did, many of those with anti bodies present couldn't say when.

So while accounts differ a very large number of people who have it never know it.

That's not minimizing it, it's a real problem.

Of the three people I know who've had it, one got a mild dose. Sniffles first, then the loss of smell and cough with a day or two of fever but over everything in a week and felt fine after and since. Never got to the point of laboured breathing or any of that heavy stuff. Smokes like a trooper, otherwise healthy.

He did give it to his missus who got very sick with it but still was able to ride it out at home because her breathing wasn't too badly affected by it.

Third person I know, sadly, is not for an attempt at a happy thread...

Hopefully, now we have so many recovered cases, we'll start hearing more from people who had the disease mildly and were able to treat themselves at home, rather than the barrage of info about patients with horror stories. While the horror stories are important to fully grasp the severity of this illness, it'd be nice to hear some accounts from definite, confirmed cases around the country who didn't have it so bad.

In the interest of balance, an all dat

I reckon I had it, was referred for a test initially but was dropped when the criteria changed. I was working from home and effectively isolating already anyway but one day I couldn't get out of the bed, worked another few days but wasn't 100%.

Majority of official confirmed cases will not be mild, in the sense of a mild cold. Reason for that being is that the testing requirements are quite restrictive.

For exmple, myself and the missus got very sore throats 2 weeks ago. She had a caugh as well. I went on to develop a full blown chest infection where even sitting felt like hard work. Called up the GP, described symptoms and the situation in the house - didn't qualify for a test, since none of us had developed a fever and we were not in the risk group.

The symptom threshold for an official confirmed case is too high at the moment for the mild cases, let alone the ones who never develop symptoms.

What age were they? Had they underlying symptoms?

A friend of my Dad’s got it, he’s close to retirement age. He was saying he was painting the house while in quarantine. Now in fairness this lad is as hard as a coffin nail though.

And they are never going to get a test to confirm one way or another unless we start testing for the antibodies

The mildest cases have no symptoms whatsoever

Healthcare worker here with experience of mass testing. For every symptomatic case, there are at least 2 asymptomatic or very mild cases that you would never even suspect.
