Combat gets better when you have a few abilities and a weapon(s) you like.
I wasn't too into it until it got a bit more in depth with different enemies etc.

As for not liking the looks could it be a taste thing rather than a graphics thing?
Revelations is my least favourite because I didn't like the citys look or feel.

Is the only way to get new weapons by buying them? I’m using the same axe since the start of the game that I just keep upgrading. I run the last games getting loads of new weapons by looting but finding very little in terms of looting in this.

It’s more really the textures, shadows and lighting really.

You can buy them or loot them. Unlike the previous games, there are very few weapons in this game (maybe 4 or 5 of each type). They will show up on the map as a treasure item and are tracked alongside the other finite items in each region.

I didn't find there to be much difference between weapons of the same type and rarely found them to improve as the game goes on aside from their base quality (which you can easily upgrade yourself).

Mainly by looting wealth locations but you can buy a few in the shops.
I was using the same weapons for ages too.

Ah right, that is a pain.

I wouldn't be a fan of using spears but I like Gungnir, the force field is pretty cool

You pairing it with a shield or weapon or using it by itself?

Dual spears or maybe a dagger for really quick attacks. Once you've a good amour build and the right runes you can keep your stamina up, do a lot of damage. I like to swap between weapons every now and again. Hammers are definitely my favourite

I got 60 hrs in and then my file got corrupted and I lost all my data . I have no desire to start this game again. Even though I think Odyessy is better they are both far too bloated and you just keep doing the same thing over and over again. They are both much inferior to The Witcher 3 which ive completed twice and will play again once the ps5 update comes out. Its just has a much better setting. The story is better the side quests are more interesting and its just a better game overall. I think what allows witcher 3 to be much more interesting is the fantasy element. Assassins creed games try to be much too historically accurate . Especially Valhalla

Played 39 hours according to Uplay and 42% story completed and got bored and stopped playing.

The lack of stealth reallly turned me off this and I had no interest in the story whatsoever.

Odyssey still the best Ass Creed for me.

I've played about 10 hours i'd say but still enjoying it - i'll note i have been playing in small bursts as have a young baby so maybe that's why it's still fresh for me. 60 FPS is class and graphically the games looks great.

Ps is it just me or is it sometimes difficult to tell who's the enemy and whos the friend in battles? I keep having to spam r3 to highlight the "baddies" in red. Could just be me

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,128 ✭✭✭✭aaronjumper

Got Aellas Bardiche, the great dane axe I wanted.
Brought it and the Brigandine armour I had lying around up to my level and went mad with runes.
I was already stupidly OP before now just using the Raven Clan set, looking forward to the next fight to see how it goes.

Will be nice not having to worry about accidentally setting everything on fire with Sepulchres axe.

I had that at first too but I eventually got a feel for different factions preferred armour and colours.

Failing that just swing away, you can't hurt friendlys anyway.

The game very rarely forces disallows stealth. I played most of the game stealthily. There is only the odd mission here and there that forces you into combat.

That said, in previous games I'd treat getting caught as a fail and run away and start again, in this one I found combat fun so if I get caught I'd just lean into it.

I haven't finished the main story yet, taking my time to go through each area as I gain levels.
I'm about level 200 at the moment, just finished Lunden and about to move onto Sciropescire in terms or missions.
Should I play the new river raids stuff now or wait till I'm done with the main game?
Is there any affect to the main story?
    Any thoughts? :)

I thought the river raids were more of thing to do after you finish the main story

I played a good lot of the river raids so far, collected all of the St Georges armour set and weapons. I found my team of Jomsvikings to be kind of useless, raided one camp and three of them died within about 10 seconds

Seen a reddit thread that lots are going in stealthily and taking out all the enemies, calling the raiders when it's just the chest to open.
Seems that there's no deaths this way and you upgrade the boat quicker?

I resorted to that a few times with the big military camps, I noticed when I done that it wasn't counted as a raid in the stats unless you raid from your longship

Just started into this recently on Xbox one but it's buggy as hell.

Reda constantly online errors, music continuing in a loop. Lost NPC's with loot in walls.

Neverind the ridiculous festival events. Still playing on but disappointed at this stage it isn't playing better.
