Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Covid Payments N26 bank, back payments

I have a relative on Covid payments and she finished working for a restaurant during lockdown.
She has been having issues getting paid into N26 German Bank Account.
After a lot of back and forth (she went about setting up an AIB account last week), she rang them again today and they told her that her payments were in the Post Office. Up until today she had never been told that, and going to the Post Office to collect them is not ideal anyway for many reasons.
She went to collect today and there was €700 there.

Is there any way to get the back weeks owed to her and any reason that they would not pay into N26?

They made it clear from the start that they were only paying into Irish bank accounts. This was to at least try and prevent widespread fraud.
This caught lots of young people with Revolut accounts, in particular, out.
Other people lost out because of mistakes on the 1 page form in PPSNs IBANS and DOB. Loads in the same boat.
When she eventually closes her Covid claim the Dept have said that they will consider the situation with regard to “arrears” claimants may have accrued. That is all they have said so far. We will be in dire straights then so we’ll have to wait and see.
BTW that €700 is for this week and next week as next Monday is a public holiday.

Okay, thanks. Hopefully she can get something back. Her rent alone is eating her savings.

She can apply to the CWO at the SW office for rent supplement.
