Nobody would have wagged their finger if you'd just gone because no would have known about it. You've seen other threads on boards, this is a devisive issue so I'm sure you got the response you wanted.

I am feeling down at the moment with this whole thing this is a discussion forum I am discussing it why are you trying to frame that in a negative way?

Quite a few people thinking along the same lines as myself at the start of this I was all for the lockdown.

I am discussing the issue I am not putting anybody down or questioning their motives why are you?

Yes, believe it or not, people have been using social distancing and good hygience practices since before the lockdown, and it is now routine.

‘Some’ people, have it down as routine. From what I’m seeing, from what I’m being told by friends and family and reading... too many people are NOT. I’ve documented several instinct this thread of stuff, from neighbors, the park etc... behavior just isn’t responsible enough, self discipline and policing isn’t happening enough.

Look we are a social country, so I ‘get’ why, but people need to understand the repercussions of this going tits up... which is death, misery and losses on all fronts , it could take a decade plus to try and put right.

I'm not being smart or argumentative here, but did you carry that same sentiment before this regarding flu?

Yep, and not being smart or argumentative it's not the flu.

Worked in health care based I.T. for a good few years and while doing moved back home to help take care of my mam who had emphysema, she passed away from it a few years ago.
I used masks and gloves during flu season along with the regular flu jab, used to get some strange looks obviously but people understood when I explained why.

I certainly feel like my mental health has been impacted by this. I haven't seen my parents in 2 months now.

The vast majority of people are responsible, and this is reflected in the figures, like R0 which has been around 0.5 for weeks. We'll have death, misery and losses for a decade if we keep going down this same road of lockdown because we'll have massive unemployment, businesses collapsing, no money to pay for the health service, education and other public services, and the resulting morbidity.

Lockdown won’t last forever, some of us just don’t want it relaxed ‘too’ soon. That’s all I’m advocating. I’ll be at the front of the Q with you when it is relaxed.

You're not discussing it, you stated in your op that you were going out. That's the end of the discussion. You weren't looking for feedback, you're not going to be swayed from going, so go but don't get all pissy when some people call you out for it.

Nothing wrong with going out for a drive, and parking up somewhere nice where you can go for a walk, without being too close to people.

Maintain social distancing and you arent endangering yourself or anyone else.

People need to be logical about this.

You know reality is not welcome in many quarters. Wait till the fun starts when the pandemic payment stops.

People from the North free to move all over Ireland.
Scab slave labour being flown in on flights.

Travellers totally free to do what they want when they want where they want.

I am working long hours which are deemed essential.

I am going to get out for a decent drive this weekend and head for a beauty spot and get out for a walk and enjoy the sun.

Before you shut me down mods can you answer what harm I will be doing?

This is a discussion forum we are not living in China or North Korea.

Im sick to the teeth of this lockdown its dragging on and on... all the stuff i want to be doing i cant, like going to the gym all the plans for holidays i had made none of it.. cant go to pub for a few pints, **** all its a **** buzz.

But its a case of tough ****, we ve a job to do and its as simple as that..so ill be following the guidelines to a tee, ill whinge and grunt about it but it simply has to be done.. and thats the end of it.

Its not gonna last forever we might have to give up our summer but needs must if it protects people.

One thing ive found very helpful is using the time off to improve myself, be it fitness wise, getting a new routine going, doing free online courses ect make the best out of a bad situation try come out the otherside of it abit better than what you were.

Could be also. Would be better to put everyone over 55 under house arrest and let everyone else carry on as normal than to continue the current sham. We will shortly be bankrupt and unable to finance the health and social welfare systems.

Because it was deemed non essential under the "guidelines"

I am putting my health at risk to keep the supermarket shelves full.

I will be taking a drive and a walk in the sun that will not have any effect on you whatsoever.

You really want to risk going from hero status to be reduced to a complete selfish turd in the eyes of the majority?

Fill your boots I say, in fact I think you are spoofing for the sake of a reaction but please go out as no matter what people say here you are too stubborn to listen to reason.

Against boards guidelines? Yes, I'm deeming it more essential that say, off licenses, and with the amount of calls I've taken over the last few weeks the conclusion is people either want or need this service.
