Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stones for circular fire pit

    Hi folks.

    Am thinking of a small project, building a fire pit in the garden. See attached image as an example. I would only do it half the height of this. Something to sit around on cooler evenings. Burning wood, have a free endless supply.

    Wondering where I might buy the stones for this. Am in Dublin. Obviously will have to wait a few weeks. Any ideas?

    Any other things to think about. Was thinking it should be simple. Dig a hole, add some small stones to the bottom for drainage, then some sand. Get a bag of cement for the bricks. Leave a few gaps. Should be simple enough, right??!!

    If I was to use it as a bbq too, anything else I would need to consider? Is it just to throw a grate over the top, anything else to consider?

    No sorry. I just used regular bricks and they have worked ok.

    Be careful. I have an outdoor stove that started firing out hot, sharp shards of brick at high speed when it got up to temperature.
