Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
Could anyone tell me if I will be entitled to the back to education allowence? I am hoping to do a level 9 course which is approved as being eligble to recieive the back to education for the duration of the course. I have been on social welfare in the last 12 months and will be signing on again in the Summer so I will be on social welfare before starting the course.
What im worried about is, I recieved the back to education allowance 2 years ago for a level 8 course. I know with Susi you have to be out of education for 3 years before being eligable for a grant but im wondering if it's the same for BTEA?

Also, is it possible to work part time while in college and still get the BTEA?

    Thanks in advance.

There is no waiting time required. However, all BTEA applications require approval from a case officer, so it must be considered as a valid career progression path for you by the Department. If they believe you are sufficiently qualified already to get employment, they could refuse.

You can work part-time, although your wages affect your BTEA payment the same way that they would affect your Jobseekers payment.
