    Is this fella trying to dig out a point of importance or just get a headline?

    A headline.

    He gets a headline, he knows majority of people will let their emotions decide for them so they won't read past it and controversy is created. Example, see every celebrity story ever

    Controversy = Cash

    We had 6,000 active cases at the last update, so down to half that now.

    So 18500 have recovered from the 22000+ well that's promising enough.

    Unusual regional pattern in new cases - none in Wexford or Waterford, and one in Kerry, but big spikes in both Longford and Offaly:

    Wasn’t there a shed-load of UK travellers over for a funeral in Birr a few weeks ago with complaints that social distancing was not being observed? Not beyond the realms of possibility that some attendees travelled down from Longford either

    Government can borrow for next to nothing. I don't think that's the issue. It's how to finance the paying off of this debt in the long term.

    Am I the only one thinking that every country is going to default on these loans? That money is never going to be paid back

    Poor asking Holohan about a case in Mayo hospital. How can he answer it. He cant control every case/hospital in this country

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,483 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

    That was so stupid. It was blatantly clear, your man was looking for reaction.

    Then the next one is pure hostility too.

    Based on test results there are 5138 active cases in Ireland. That is a great figure. Represents 0.1% of the Irish population.

    Absolutely no need.

    Ridiculous that Simon Harris isn't at these briefings tbh. Even the Brits have a Government rep there.

    Not sure it works that well when public is watching. But revealing to see how news is created and framed alright

    This one reminds me of that scene in Father Ted, when the Nun introduced Ted to collect his award.

    "BIZARRE IRREGULARITIES IN HIS ACCOUNT!"
