Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ahem adviser fees..;)

Ah most definitely I'd say there was your own interpretation of any advice.
And now you have another tool in your arsenal moving forward.

Can ye let the rest of us in in this trick with the molaess

Mix in water in a sprayer and spray on field.
You can add whatever mixture you want with the molasses.
Stick in molasses and soil on Google and there'll be reams of recipes on it.

I take Clough just sprayed it on the grass and clean out was improved.

Spreading fert here now. Got no rain of such the last week just a few bits of mist. Went to Ennis a few evening's ago and 5 miles down the road there was floods on the road. Place is fair parched looking.

Well if your cows cleaned all your docks with it then it surely would work on steamy grass. Will put up a photo later. Was grazed twice and given fert for hay but little to no rain since closed up.

Using 4 asterixes in a row should be bannable :)

Have you no muddy puddles to splash in?

Rain at last, rained nicely all night from about 10pm until 7 this morning. Thanks be to jaysus as things were looking bad if it didn't come, we seemed to miss all the rain that was in our area the past while. Baled 12 acres on Tuesday exactly a month later than last year and had 4 less bales this year. Have another 20 acres that has all gone to seed heads and will be poor enough quality to be cut next week. Hopefully the reseed will drive on now and I'll definitely be reseeding a few more fields this summer as these tired old swards just don't perform under stress like this.

Kerry men are a bit like Corkmen ( and Glaswegians) . They'd rather peel an orange on their pocket than share. :D

Edit: I'm neither from Munster or Glasgow:D

Very welcome drop of rain here overnight in N Offaly.
12mm recorded. Very little on the grand scheme of things but a very important drop.
    Hoping for more tomorrow.

We've got at least 40mm of rain here across the last 10days, however judging by how hard it is to push in the pegs on some of our ground I'd guess we are still in a 50mm+ moisture deficit.

The difference a drop of rain makes here. This is Tuesday morning.

Ah yep grass absolutely flying it since that 30mm a week ago, however loads of time for another drought to hit in later in the summer if things reloaded again given the 50mm+ deficit still there.

But yeh the grass challenge has firmly moved on now to getting every blade of steamy grass gone from the place, because the cows have zero interest in eating it, the fookers decided they would flatten a pigtail fence 2 nights ago and break into the silage pit instead of eat what they were given uggghhh. I've no regrets about letting the afc rise and not topping anything until the rain hit, but I absolutely should of gone in faster then to top or bale anything that wasn't aftergrass then.

Yeah, the interest in cleaning the strong is gone.

It had to be built up. Things were looking very quare in early June. Still could change back but lot of help there.

If i recall right the so called drought of 2018, we had our last rain on the 20th June. no rain then till 14th July. short duration really. it was the high temperatures that burnt things up more than no rain .

Have been using a leader follower system for last 4-6 weeks. Paddocks cleaned out some are starting to green up nicely now. Paddocks with covers have s bit of stem and small seed heads but none are exceptionally strong. I will have 10acres of after grass in 10days time as well

There had already been very dry weather before the last date of rain. When we made silage in the first week of June our contractor said he was refusing to put out slurry for lads because of the lack of rain.

I can see loop head from my place in Kerry and I've had lots of water.
We even have 4 blue barrels full for the eventual 2 days without rain :)

I was out in Co. Limerick yesterday evening. I was really surprised with the amount of grass they had. Farmer I was talking to there couldn't believe we got no rain only very recently.
