Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can I kick off with this mini opus for the makers of Mr. Sheen.

I can remember being mildly amused by this back in the day, but nobody seemed to find it offensive because it was clearly all a bit of silly fun. Albeit in a randy gentleman chasing after poor damsel at supersonic speed in a Benny Hill kind of way.

In 2020 it looks just plain weird. We will never see the likes of this on our television screens again.

I remember that one well. When it used to come on my brother would shout encourgement at yer man things like "grab her tits".

I remember that first ad when it came out, and it was (and is) very cartoonish. You knew his behaviour wasn't on, but you weren't going to emulate it (unless you were Hangdogroad's brother, maybe. ).

Off topic a bit but Bachelor’s Walk is being repeated. Twenty years on a storyline about a guy in his late 20s pursuing and seducing a girl in secondary school wouldn’t be acceptable at all.

I'm 50.
When I was 30, or even 20 the rules for decent people around consent and sex generally were very much the same as they are now.
We (my peers) understood what consent was. We knew what sexual assault and rape was and we knew what was inappropriate behaviour. Things have not changed much in that regard.

There were assholes then who behaved badly just as there are assholes now how behave badly.

This is a really strange one, not from a Me Too perspective but its hard to figure out what kind of message its supposed to convey. The father looks and sounds like a creepy psychopath, his weird references to his wife and the uneasy feeling that they're not eating pork.

Haha I remember that now. Completely weird when you watch it again. The shot of his wife pouring the gravy, she looks like she's in fear of her life! Not sure what the hell was happening. Plus the dinner looks dry and disgusting. It would hardly make you want to run out and buy some British pork

Because things have gone so bad now that the look she actually gave in the commercial could be interpreted as "too provocative" for viewers who could possibly find it "offensive".
