I’ll give yozzers an example of racism from my late mother. I had brought her to north Wales on a holiday and we were staying at a B&B run by a couple with a fully Welsh name. When we arrived a very glamorous black lady answered the door and introduced herself. I had been doing the booking, Mum hadn’t heard the name originally, so I immediately knew she was the lady of the house. She showed us around the house, speaking in a strong Welsh accent, and referred to the wall hanging which were traditional local tapestries, and various Welsh crafts. The family dog arrived into the hall and she addressed it in Welsh, then her Celtic looking husband popped in and welcomed us and we settled into the bedroom.

With the door closed my mother said something along the lines of “the au pair seems very much at home here in the house, like as if it were her family home.”

He took everything as a slight, obviously I don't know the full context as I wasnt there but if after 13 years that's all he has as examples it seems weak, and he is the one that went on air to make the point so it should be clear. Posters above have pointed out occasions when hair colour and language ability were mentioned with no negative racist connotations.

Bullshyt, some people are just over-sensitive.

I was discussing a local areshole with a friend, who's a bit tanned, and used the expression, "Dat fecker would try to convince you black is white." I saw him react slightly to that, when there wasn't the slightest hint or implication of anything in any way racist on my side, but it only shows the kind of thing that Marco has in mind.

When I was in secondary school 'fear ghorm' was the term for a black man.

I can only assume they have changed it to something more fluffy now.
